President Hotel

We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. Based on the description and previous reviews, we expected a much better experience. One of the most disappointing things was that we actually wanted to spend money in the hotel, but it felt like they didn’t want our business. The biggest issue was the rooftop restaurant. We were a group of seven and asked the restaurant manager if he could reserve a table for us by joining two tables together. He refused because one table was supposedly reserved for eight guests, even though we were only one person fewer. His attitude was rude, sarcastic, and completely unprofessional, making us feel unwelcome. To make matters worse, we had planned to celebrate a birthday at the rooftop restaurant with our group of seven. Unfortunately, because of the manager’s attitude and unwillingness to accommodate such a simple request, we had to celebrate somewhere else. It was very disappointing, as we had been looking forward to spending that special evening at the hotel. The rooftop pool was another major disappointment and one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Access to the pool requires an additional fee and a deposit, and the sunbeds can only be used until 7:00 PM. After that, guests are not even allowed to remain in the pool area because the restaurant takes priority. We were even told that we could not sit on the sunbeds in the evening, despite being willing to order drinks and spend money there. We found this policy completely unreasonable and unacceptable. Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations. The service, the attitude of the staff, and the way the facilities are presented made our stay very disappointing. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel and would not choose it again.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Starting with the check in process we felt like we were not wanted there. We were a group of 10 and had 3 rooms. My husband and I were told our room was ready, even though we checked in early. We were tired from a long ferry ride and wanted to freshen up. When we got to the room, it was not even touched to be cleaned, let alone ready. We went back down stairs and were given a shrug. After a few minutes there was a mumbled apology and something about a computer glitch. We are also given to drink vouchers for compensation. I was excited because I was hoping to be able to use it for a mixed drink like an Adderall spritz. However, when I tried using it later, I was told it could only be used for beer, wine, or hard liquor, none of which we drink. The room itself was fine, but extremely hot as the air conditioning did not work very well in our room. I found out from my friends that their air-conditioning did not work either. Aside from that the rooms were fine. The other thing that I had an issue with was that there is a big sign that says that you cannot order or have food delivered to the hotel. Which I perfectly understand. However my husband went across the street to a local bakery and picked up some sweets for our group to have in the evening with our drinks when we sat in the lounge area and watched the soccer game. We were told that we could not consume that despite the fact that they do not even have these items on the menu to purchase. I understand if they were selling these things, but they were not. Specifically, he bought some baklava which we were all excited to eat, but we’re not able to until we got to our rooms. Overall, the experience was just not warm and friendly. They cater more to business travelers and people coming for conferences. The breakfast buffet was fine but the last day we were there, there were no clean tables, despite the fact that they were not a lot of people there. They looked like they were shortstaffed, and when I asked for some silverware again, I felt like I was an intruder asking for some grandiose thing. I would not recommend this hotel for any regular travelers. I plan to return to Greece and maybe to Athens, but I will not be staying at this hotel again in the future.

Superb hotel. The Penthouse restaurant is great with friendly professional staff.
