Royal Olympic Hotel

We had a two night before a yacht cruise. Slightly worried about the mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our stay especially as we were upgraded to a large spacious room with a view. The room was lovely, and massive marble shower room. Yes, tea and coffee facilities would have been nice and perhaps more power points but despite these niggles we enjoyed our stay there especially the view from the roof top restaurant! The staff at reception were ok but the baggage handlers were great and very helpful. Definitely would stay again.

The location of the hotel is great. The rooms are smaller than what they appear to be. We had trouble with the air-conditioning as it was not working right and the rooms were hot constantly. The power was going on and off sporadically at times and we had no electricity cause of it. I think age is finally caught up to the hotel. The people in here are very friendly and helpful unfortunately that does not make up for the quality of the rooms. The other room, the shower was not working and we had a call the front desk to fix it which they did, but that should’ve been done before we moved in. The reason why I gave it a higher Mark than I wanted to is because of how good the people were at the hotel.

pleasantly surprised considering some reviews; very helpful staff; excellent location for Acropolis and Plaka; the panoramic rooms are incredible: more than very spacious, view of temple of Zeus and Parthenon; rooftop (breakfast, dinner, bar) has a sole view of Partenon. An experience worthy of a 5-star hotel!
