Apollo Hotel

The location was within a 25 minute walk to Plaka and the Acropolis. Breakfast was included and consisted of scrambled and boiled eggs, breads, sausages, fruit, and cereals. The coffee was weak and occasionally hot. We booked a room with two beds, we're given a room with one and then switched to the 6th floor. We had an excellent Acropolis view, with a balcony. The walls are paper thin, you can hear the neighbour breathe, and smell the cigarette smoke all the time. Parking is a challenge. If cigarette smoke is a problem for you, probably don't stay here, or come to Athens at all!

It's in a good location. The room was very warm and quiet. The coffee at breakfast was not good. And we didn't have internet. But for the price I paid, I was satisfied.

I booked this hotel in a rush. When then reading the reviews I was nervous about the area and how the staff would behave. There was nothing to be nervous about. The hotel is in a slightly rougher area and on a main road so quite noisy but apart from that, the location is ideal with it only being a short walk to the centre. I traveled alone but I appreciate I am not a woman and so if I were a woman and traveling alone in the area, it might make me nervous. As for the staff, they were perfectly fine - friendly when interacting with them. The hotel room itself was basic but fine - pushed two single beds together which wasn’t ideal but not awful - they were quite uncomfortable though. The room had an ok sized private bathroom and a balcony which was great. Breakfast wasn’t great - very basic offering. Overall it was ok - would be fine if staying for a couple of nights.
