My husband and I have just returned from an unforgettable stay at Acrothea, and we're already talking about coming back. Dimitris and his wonderful staff gave us a truly lovely hotel experience.
Acrothea is perfect for couples, independent travellers and anyone who values breathtaking views, genuine hospitality and a personal atmosphere.
This is not a large resort where you spend your entire holiday by the pool. Instead, it's the ideal base for exploring everything Parga has to offer—beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants, boat trips and the charming old town. If that's the kind of holiday you're looking for, it's hard to imagine a better place to stay.
The views are worth every step! If your budget allows it, book one of the Deluxe rooms on the top two floors. The panoramic view over Parga harbour is simply spectacular and becomes part of the entire experience. Watching the sunrise, the boats coming and going, and the town lighting up in the evening from your private balcony is something we'll never forget. The lower rooms may still be comfortable, but you risk missing the very thing that makes this hotel so special.
The people make the difference- The greatest strength of Acrothea is not just the location—it's the people. Dimitris and every member of the staff genuinely care about their guests. Their kindness, attention to detail and willingness to help create a family-like atmosphere that is becoming increasingly rare.
Guests greet each other, chat over breakfast and quickly feel at home. It never feels anonymous. Breakfast isn't a huge resort-style buffet, and it doesn't try to be. Instead, you'll find everything you need for a very good start to the day, including excellent freshly made omelettes. Whenever possible, sit outside on the terrace overlooking the harbour. The combination of breakfast and that incredible view is the perfect way to begin your morning.
A glass of wine with a view- The hotel doesn't have a bar, but that never bothered us.
You can simply ask for wine glasses, bring back a bottle you've bought in town and relax in one of the hotel's lovely outdoor seating areas. Whether you prefer sunshine or shade, there is always a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the view.
A few things to know before you book
There are many steps throughout the property.
You can use the road instead if you want to avoid some of them, but this is probably not the best choice for guests with significant mobility issues. If climbing stairs is difficult, it's something you should consider before booking.
We didn't really use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on its quality.
One extra recommendation- Don't miss Sakis Restaurant, also run by Dimitris.
It has a lovely atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and excellent food. It was one of the highlights of our stay.
Final thoughts -If you're looking for a resort where everything happens inside the hotel, Acrothea probably isn't the right choice. But if you want spectacular views, exceptional hospitality, a welcoming family atmosphere and the perfect base from which to discover Parga, I honestly can't recommend it highly enough.
Thank you, Dimitris and your entire team, for making our stay so memorable. We can't wait to return.

We’d been trying to book the Acrothea Hotel for the last two years, and after finally staying here, I can honestly say the wait was absolutely worth it.
Everything about our stay was exceptional. The location is perfect close enough to enjoy everything Parga has to offer, yet peaceful enough to relax and take in the stunning views.
Waking up each morning to those beautiful views was a real highlight.
The staff were fantastic throughout our stay warm, welcoming and always happy to help.
Our room was spotless, comfortable and finished to a very high standard.
Having parking for our hire car was another huge bonus and made exploring the area so much easier.
We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing. It’s one of those rare places where everything comes together perfectly and it simply couldn’t be any better.
We will definitely be back one day and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
If you’re looking for somewhere special in Parga, stop searching you’ve found it.

This is the third time we've stayed at Acrothea and it won't be the last. We have been to Parga 8 times and Acrothea is by far the best hotel we've stayed in. The rooms are lovely and clean, comfy bed, lovely shower, TV and the view over the harbour and Parga town is just stunning. Breakfast is everything you could want - omelettes, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, yoghurt ....and more. It's right on the harbour so it takes no more than 2 minutes to get there. There are a lot of steps so we go down and coming back we walk round the road at the back, which is a gentle climb and takes about 10 minutes. Dimitris is a lovely host. Really friendly and can't do enough to help you. We went with Jet2 the first time but have booked direct the last 2 times. The problem is that if you go to Parga then nowhere else will be as good and you'll always think " I wish I was in Parga :)".
