The Grand Serai Congress & Spa Hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the beach, which is a major advantage given how difficult it is to find parking in this area. The hotel provides private parking on-site, making the stay very convenient.
The hotel itself is large and spacious, featuring a rich, ornate design style that felt a bit dated to my taste, though I recognize this is subjective. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an Executive room with a garden-facing balcony, and despite facing the street, the room was remarkably quiet.
As the hotel is not brand new, there are some visible signs of wear, such as scratches on the parquet flooring and air conditioning that functioned more as a fan than a cooling system. However, the breakfast was rich and varied, and the staff were incredibly kind and handled the few minor issues I encountered with great professionalism.
