Irinna

We have been in this hotel for the whole week. 2 adults + 4yo child. I have to admit that the hotel is very old but it is very clean. We had a great room - number 254. The view was to the sea and the pools. The bathroom was small but clean. The main room was huge and also the balcony was big. We sat there to watch the sunrise with our child. The staff in the hotel is great. Everyone are very kind and talkative! Especially boys in the dinning room. They are great! The hotel has two great pools. Pools are very clean. The area is also cleaned everyday. The number of sun loungers by the pool is always sufficient. There is no problem with booking chairs with towels by guests. For almost the whole stay we were the only one using pools! My child was so happy. Also he was the only child in the whole building so our stay was very quiet and peaceful. We really loved the big parking. There is always some shadow to left your car in it. No matter the hour you are returning from your trip - you will always have a place to park your car and you don't need to worry about others who will hit your car while opening doors or anything. I loved the neighborhood of the hotel. Everything is quiet and peaceful. With a 5 min walk you can reach the Ammes Beach and some good restaurants. When I was reading comments about this hotel I found one when a guy wrote that he visits this hotel for almost 20 years. That could be true. Trees around the hotel are big and old. I loved it. I would also like to praise the work of cleaning ladies. Everyday our room was cleaned and even the two shark toys were nicely arranged on his bed. The hotel is great for plane lovers (like my son and husband). They took about 100 photos of planes from here and the beach near the airport! They were waiting for almost every plane to look on it :) planes are great to watch also during the evening when it's a little dark and they are full of lights. The only disadvantage here is that there is no vegetables and fruit for breakfast. But the Lidl supermarket is about 10 min from the hotel (by car) so buying groceries wasn't a problem. I would love to come back here in September. Because from the conversation with the staff I know that the temperature of water in the sea would be higher :) It was a great holiday! I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Kefalonia over the years but the Irinna will always remain my favourite place to be. Its majestic charm and peaceful ambiance resists the passage of time and epitomises authentic Greece. Set in a rural location and close to the sea with a large outdoor pool it cannot be surpassed in terms of relaxation. Luxury is not high on the agenda but standards are maintained in every respect and the staff always go above and beyond in their efforts to please. What more could you possibly ask for?
