Golden Sands

Was extremely worried after reading some terrible reviews, but don’t believe everything you read! We came for 5 days on a quick getaway tight budget. We had a fantastic ‘fly and flop’ break as we call them. The hotel is basic as many Greek hotels are but clean and perfectly functional. The resort is small and quiet, perfect for us. The pool and pool area are lovely, we spent hours swimming and sunbathing, sipping our all inclusive drinks and snacking on hot dogs, toasted sandwiches or burgers from the pool snack bar. All food at the snack bar is cooked fresh to order and is delicious. The meals in the buffet restaurant are basic Greek food but again delicious. People complained wanting lots of chips, chicken nuggets etc, if this is the type of all inclusive you are after go to Spain!!! Dawn in the restaurant was an amazing lady, very helpful and informative about the area and so lovely to chat to and George at the bar remembered our drinks and was so welcoming. Tips, ask the reception for a kettle if you’d like tea and coffee in your room. Go to the Mermaid bar for a change of scenery and a drink or to Lola T for some lively social. We will definitely try to return on our next ‘fly and flop’. Remember Greece went through a terrible economic crisis and our tourism and support is helping to rebuild.

Very rude staff Decent hotel Repetitive food

Sad, very sad. Building too old. The odors in the bathroom rise up; it is very unpleasant. Food is more than average, and flies hover around the dishes. The only positive point is that the air conditioning works properly in the rooms, but it is very weak in the restaurant. People come to lunch in wet swimsuits and wet the chairs; the staff does not enforce the dress code.
