Irene Apartments

We had booked an apartment in Agios Gordios (Corfu) through an agency from June 22 to July 2, 2026, at Irene Wellness apartments (note NOT Irene but the Wellness, which are the superior, newly built category located on a hill in the greenery and a quiet area). Arriving at 9 PM, we found everything closed with a notice on the reception door with our name and apartment number. We went there and... surprise: It was NOT the Wellness! Apartment below street level (practically in a basement!!!), on the main road with cars unloading into our bedroom, bathroom on the edge of decency, with a shower curtain that didn't even cover the shower tray (it completely flooded with one shower and remained flooded even the next day). No hair dryer, no air conditioning (there was a split unit but without a remote control). Broken refrigerator... In short, IT WAS CERTAINLY NOT THE APARTMENT AGREED UPON AND PAID FOR. The next day I called the agency and demanded an immediate change of apartment as per our booking and contract. Moral of the story: the apartment we had booked had already been occupied by someone else!!!! I demanded to stay in another property corresponding to what we had paid for. So in the evening they put us up somewhere else, not without further difficulties! Conclusion: Irene Apartments owners are dishonest! Irene Apartments are despicable! Never again! Avoid this property!

Room 102 was abysmal ! Dirty outdated bathroom. Toilet flushed once, then didn’t refil. You had to wait 15 mins before the next flush. Cold shower for 3 days. Sink tap water came out like a dribble. Dirty stains in toilet and under sink and in shower cubicle, which also had an old yellowing shower curtain. Was told no other room available. This was an endurance test. Plus side, at least bed was comfortable. Avoid this room like the plague ! Kitchen old and outdated. I have sent photos to Love Holidays !

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable visit to Agios Gordios and Irene Apartments and just have to share our experience. I’d read some really critical reviews which are at complete odds with our experience. Irene, her brother, Christina and all of the lovely staff couldn’t have been more kind, helpful, trusting and accommodating. We stayed in rooms 304 & 307 (upgraded) in the wellness spot and they were beautiful - clean, amazing views, fresh towels, bed linen and cleaned regularly. I had a mishap with our room key and they couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. Food and drink round the pool was great, the area is beautiful, surrounded by hills, greenery and wildlife and it’s definitely somewhere we’d come back to. Don’t hesitate to come here - it’s magical. Irene and the team, thank you so much for making our holiday so special
