We spent four nights at the Primarolia Hotel recently (for the Orhtodox Easter holidays) with our two daughters, aged 7 & 6. It is trully an art hotel, full of original works of art, rooms are decorated differently (i.e. why there are no numbers but names for each room) and one gets the impression of staying at an art tycoon's place. It is true rooms are a bit small: we were staying at the White Suite, so that was really spacey, but our daughters' Safari room was quite small (the kids, of course, loved it because of the paintings of wild animals and did not bother about space, anyway...). Breakfast is VERY good: of course, we went to the minuscule "restaurant" quite early and we got plenty of butter croissants (the best I ever tasted in a Greek hotel !), nice carrot and chocolate cakes, generous portions of local graviera and manouri cheeses, good smoked salmon and ... black caviar !!! Yes, it is true there were no scambled eggs nor bacon, but not everyone in the world eats eggs and bacon in the morning, so we did not miss them at all. On the contrary, we enjoyed the freshly made cappuccinos, the nice milk served to the kids, the hot bread, the (real) freshly-squeezed OJ and the continuous smile of the young receptionists / bartenders / I-do-everything-in-this hotel men and women.
The only minuses I can find, apart from the square area of standard rooms, are the lack of enough parking space in front of the hotel (we always managed to find a spot, however) and the noise level from the main street in front of the harbour, which can be heard by light sleepers (not in our case, however ;-)
The location, the service and the great interior make the PH a great choice for a weekend (or a business trip) and makes it also the no. 1 hotel in Patras, a city unfortunately not known for its accommodation choices.

very beautiful hotel, but unfortunately with no comfort. The personal staff was unprofessional, they were not ready to help you. We took the honeymoon suite, it was with 2 single mattresses and 2 single blankets, the water was cold, and when we asked for a double blanket they told us THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE!! breakfast was poor and cold, i f you want eggs, you have to order them and pay them! Very noisy the rooms. It is a 4 star hotel, but i will say max 2! really terrible

I spent 2 nights recently at the Primarolia hotel in Patras.
The good:
Very good location close to the city center and all bars, cafes, & restaurants.
The breakfast was nice although I did not see any hot items, but that might have been because I was late.
The bad:
My room was on the 1st floor at the back side of the building over a busy road and the noise from the lobby area and the elevator plus the traffic almost kept me up all night.
Being an art hotel the decor is very nice and smart.
I would only recommend this hotel if you are sure that you will get a room on the third floor and at the front side of the hotel facing the sea.
