Nice little hotel with a small pool, nice staff. Slightly grumpy owner though.

The whole team were fantastic - from the friendly welcome at 1am in the morning for check in to the moment we left. Excellent customer service. We stayed as a family of 4 on a B&B basis for the last week in July. We had 2 x standard double rooms in the main hotel next to each other. The hotel is well positioned for exploring. It’s about a 5 min walk to the promenade/beach which is then a nice walk to follow into Kos town. That takes about 15/20 min depending on the speed of walking. Plenty to look at along the way. The hotel is on a busy road but our rooms were overlooking the pool so we didn’t hear any traffic. The hotel is spotlessly clean with housekeeping everyday. The standard rooms had an under-counter fridge and air con. Breakfast was buffet style with a mix of hot and cold food including toast and bread selection, beans, egg, bacon (Greek style), hotdog type sausage, tomatoes, cheese, fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Not a massive buffet but certainly enjoyable. The coffee machine is bean to cup so taste good, and the fruit juice machine is from concentrate/cordial type not fresh. The pool is very small but we didn’t really spend anytime volume of time here as we were out exploring. There weren’t very many loungers but when we did want to lie for an hour or so while the children had a play in the pool then we always managed to get one. Behind the hotel is a large supermarket, and on the walk around the hotel there are plenty of smaller convenience type shops including a spar. Hotel runs a happy hour 7pm to 8pm and we enjoyed their cocktails. A bus does run past the hotel but not sure of its route. We walked to the main Kos town dept area to catch a bus up to Zia. All in all, this was a great base for our holiday and we would return to the hotel. We booked with Tui who were offering the best price at our time of booking. Thank you for a lovely holiday! X

Some say never go back to somewhere you previously had a holiday at and really enjoyed. We have experienced that in the past, but took a chance on returning to Poseidon Hotel and Apartments in Kos three years after our last visit. We were not disappointed and enjoyed the holiday as much as the first time. What is most evident here is guests return year after year. This is in no small part due to the family who own and run it, Ang and Toula. They are tremendous hosts who know how to manage a hotel and have extensive knowledge of customer service. Guests become friends, hence returning many times. Their staff are very good and special mention to Nikos who ran the bar on the evening. We took a one bedroom apartment. This was spacious and comfortable and more than enough room for two people. The a/c was in both the bedroom and living area and kept the room cool throughout the night and day. The apartment was very clean and tidy and did have everything one would need if self-catering, however, we choose not to eat in and ventured into Kos Town, a 20 minute walk, most nights. There are also two nice restaurants close by which we used also, Lithino less than 5 minutes walk and The Land of Olives which is opposite the hotel. The breakfast buffet is very good with extensive choice of hot and cold options, bean to cup coffee and juices. During the day there is a good snack bar which provides salads and burgers etc. We did not use the small pool area. The hotel was our base for the holiday and we took advantage of a rental car, booked through the hotel, to explore the island and visit other beaches and villages. Overall, another wonderful stay at this family run hotel. It is thoroughly recommended and one day I am sure we will return again. Thank you to ALL the staff for giving us such a lovely holiday in Kos. Neil & Pam
