Imagine a long flight to Naxos and then being greeted coldly at check in to the Plaza Beach Hotel. The beds were hard like rocks (seriously) and no blankets given (only a sheet) especially when the temperature drops at night. The rooms very basic. The pool temperature was freezing cold, nobody swam in it. It also had an ugly fence around it that detracted from the beach and pool views and the pool lounges were on the grass outside of the pool area. The breakfast was mediocre at best and the very same each day. With no car, your choices to eat out was either at their bar/restaurant or a long walk down the road to one other, or take the long bus ride cramped with passengers. If you needed concierge help, like information on activities on Naxos you were told to use the internet so you are on your own. We thought Marie Elena at the front desk was just having a bad day, but she was rude and condescending throughout our stay.
There are many wonderful places to stay on Plaka Beach, but sadly the Plaka Beach Hotel is not one of them. Honestly submitted.
