BEWARE This hotel is not to be recommended. While the owner is a pleasant man the place appears uncared for. My room for the first night was the most depressing decrepit appalling room I’ve had in Greece for a long time. I asked for a room change which was an improvement but had horrendous loud plumbing noises from surrounding rooms as well as a noisy street with cars and bikes. Light bulbs missing, had to ask for toilet paper, nothing explained to me about the property. I had no idea there was a rooftop terrace until I read about it later. This couldn’t care less lazy attitude is common in low grade accommodation in Greece. What I didn’t expect was to have a dress and shoes missing from my suitcase which had never been out of the bag since I left home. The bag was locked with a padlock at all times I was not in the room. This is very disappointing as I had already given one of the staff some unwanted clothes. Despite three emails to the property I’ve had no response. There are many many other places to stay on Naxos. Choose anywhere except Vakhos.

This hotel was a disaster. It was smelly, shabby and had seen better days. We didn't mind basic but this felt very unpleasant, our room smelt of smoking and mould. It didn't feel very clean and the bathroom was hopeless. Trying to have a shower resulted in flooding the entire bathroom and bedroom. The breakfasts were very lacking and I would certainly never recommend anyone to stay here. We were having a fabulous holiday island hopping and had prebooked this hotel, we very nearly moved out and tried to find another hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an island hopping trip. The rooms are basic and a bit shabby, but clean and adequate, and the price is very fair. There was plenty of hot water. We even had a small electric cooker, fridge and sink in our room! There is free wifi. Our room (103) looked straight out onto the next door building. The rooms on the other side overlook a quiet side street. The breakfast was ok - a limited buffet eaten in the basement or on a cramped veranda. The place is run by 2 generations of the same family. They are very welcoming and helpful but their English is limited. My partner was ill while we were there and they were very kind. It's well located for the centre of town, with plenty of tavernas and car hire places nearby. About 15 mins walk from the port. There's an excellent laundry opposite who'll do your washing in a couple of hours (€10 per bag) and drop it back at the hotel.
