Xenia Hotel

Perfect central location. Clean well equipped rooms with a good breakfast buffet. 5 min walk from port 10 min walk to a great beach Rooms are very well sound proofed so don’t worry about being in a busy nighttime area.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in early May. We were using Naxos as a convenient pivot point to begin a trip through the Cyclades. The hotel is a modern building of two storeys, it has 18 rooms. We are not certain how the hotel addresses guests with a mobility problem. It is located on a side street off the seafront, a 15 minute walk with luggage from the port. It is not accessible by car and a taxi will drop a guest at the end of the side street. We suspect it has no car parking. A taxi is unlikely to stop on the seafront and if hired at the port will need to observe the one-way system around Naxos. Entry to the hotel leads immediately to a reception desk in an entrance hall which also houses the lift (albeit for only a single floor rise but welcome with luggage!). Beyond the entrance hall is a large room used for breakfast and which houses a small bar with some soft seating. We are not aware of any external areas and there is no pool. We had a standard double room on the first floor (and we believe most rooms are on this floor). The room was quite spacious with adequate storage and a small desk and chair (at the right height for working!!). The bed was very comfortable. We had a balcony with two chairs and a table overlooking the side street and its attendant restaurants and shops. We could even get a side view of the sea! The bathroom was compact with a shower cubicle but the room was more than adequate because everything worked. Bedlinen and towels were good quality and toiletries were provided. Despite the location there was very little noise from outside the room, none from the corridor and none from adjoining rooms – but the hotel was not full. There was no significant noise from the street at any time with the windows closed. Housekeeping was excellent and the whole hotel was clean and looked after. Servicing of the room was done proficiently. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and we suspect that this may be the only meal on offer. It was a buffet with hot and cold food – reasonable choice and replaced regularly. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. Simply everything is close by because this hotel can be said to be in the centre of things. Whilst the hotel did have tourists in residence we formed the opinion that it also catered to business people. This is reflected in the general quality of the hotel. We saw no evidence of organised groups. The director of the hotel is in situ and proved most helpful in answering all out queries and offering general advice toward the direction of our trip. This is a sensibly priced hotel in an excellent location. It is well run and well looked after and, although without some of the amenities of larger tourist hotels, provides a very comfortable lodging. We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Hotel with strategic and central location, and 24 m from the seafront with restaurants, shops, departure / arrival ships. Everything perfect and functional: welcome, room, cleanliness. Breakfast with a wide choice of sweet and savoury and hot and cold drinks. Open also out of season both for holidays and for those who work. Excellent value for money.
