Poseidon Of Paros

This is a fabulous place. We stayed for five nights and found it clean, calm and it has amazing staff. Reviews suggest it is isolated and that a car is needed. That was not our experience at all. We used the public bus system which is dead easy and the bus stop is 800 meters from the hotel. We used this to visit Leftkes, Piso Leavdi port and Parikia. We did one use a taxi to Punda and caught the ferry to Antiparos which is beautiful. There are also trails in both directions along the front to nearby bays which we ran along. The food at the hotel is really good. We also recommend Stella’s tavern along the road and golden bay hotel restaurant on the beach.

This hotel is very serene. Our room was beautiful with a sea view and new furnishings and we were upgraded upon arrival which was fantastic. The food at the hotel restaurant is very good. A few things to note: staying here means you need a car to go everywhere. It’s very remote. Other than the one beach (which is very nice in front of the hotel) there’s nowhere to go. You must factor in 60 euro each way or rent a car to Nausso and any other excursions, which all leave from the various ports or other places in town. On the negative side, this is a 5 star hotel that gives you one small water bottle in your room. There’s no extra water from the lobby. You need to pay for it and get it at the bar. Very surprising and very inconvenient for 5 stars. Also you get two total beach towels per room. There is no towel service at the pool or beach! It truly makes the place feel cheap that they have cut corners on two huge essentials for a beachside hotel: water and towels. Most people like to have a towel on their chair and a towel to dry off. Really disappointing. Overall very peaceful and clean.

FOR ANY COUPLES I wish I had of read a review like this before we chose to book. This is advertised as a 5 star hotel. We moved from a 5 star hotel in ios to this hotel and honestly if I was rating it it would be a 3* potentially 4 at best. Firstly, we got married on Saturday and chose this hotel as our mini moon. Not that we were expecting anything, but we had nothing to celebrate this from the hotel, a personalised note would have been enough but it just felt a bit pushed to the side. Given it’s a 5* hotel, you would expect your transfer to the port to be included (we received this treatment in ios) but nope, you have to pay this on top, and you’re a good 30 mins away from the port. There’s very little around the hotel, you really do need a car, which we hired for the day at 60 euros (plus fuel) again, comes at an expense when you’re already paying premium prices. The hotel Sunbeds are avertised online as plush white Sunbeds, in reality they are the metal and plastic Sunbeds, not a cushion in site. There are few cushioned Sunbeds which are kept on overgrown grass, where you get more than you bargained for sharing your bed with many creepy crawlies - no thanks. Sunbeds on the beach? Additional 40 euros. Breakfast is nothing special with minimal offerings, no fresh omelettes or pancakes and only one hot drink per person. Again, struggling to see the 5 stars here. Our room was massive but felt very empty, so much so we echoed. The showers are weak and fluctuate in temperature. My partner was ill whilst we were here and when we asked for a taxi to a pharmacy we got told “there are no taxis here” luckily, the gent behind reception managed to organise a private transfer which was 30 euros for an 8 minute trip - ouch. The beach is gorgeous but you’re better off staying where there is a bit more happening and travelling to this beach. All in all, we decided to check out one night early and head back to Santorini early. We felt fleeced upon checking out. Now I’m not saying this hotel is awful - it’s not, it’s pleasant, but it is most definitely not 5 stars.
