We stayed at the Belair Beach in late July. The hotel sits directly opposite the beach on a busy road. Ixia is windy there was a constant breeze at the start of the week, but it seemed to decrease as the time when on, It's still hot and sunny.
The hotel is very clean, all of the reception, cleaning, animation and restaurant staff we encountered were all friendly, helpful and polite. I emailed the hotel in advance to request a room with a nice sea view, we had booked a sea view room but not sure what kind. We arrived late in the evening and to our suprise, we were told that our room had been upgraded, free of charge, to a Executive Room, it was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated - Thank you! The tourist tax was €70 for two adults for one week. We also celebrated a birthday during our stay, on request and for a small fee of €20 the hotel staff decorated the room with balloons and banners and provided a small cake - again, thank you!
The view from our 5th floor room was spectacular, we could see the whole of the Ixia strip and even the mountains, of what I assume, was Turkey from across the ocean. The Executive Rooms are in their own apartment block. The sunsets from the balcony were incredible. The free wifi works well throughout the property.
The room itself was minimalistic, tiled throughout, with air-con, nice bathroom with soap depensers on the wall, lots of hot water (the shower floor can be slippery, so be careful), storage space, TV, double bed, with bedside tables, lighting and plug sockets each side, small fridge, iron & ironing board, large side table, mirror, tea/coffee making facilities and two chairs. The room was cleaned daily with towels and tea/coffee topped up. The beds were comfy. We were given one key card for the room.
The main pool is a good size. There's also a small kids pool, both were cold, it takes some getting used to. There are lots of sunbeds around the pools, we went down about 10.30am each day and by then the majority were taken. Some mornings there was a staff member stationed in the area guarding the space before the pool opens, there is also chain put up to emphasise that the area was closed, but people still put their towels down, I didn't see any being removed.
The food in the restaurant was always good, there was always something to eat, the waiting staff are efficient and come over to you quickly to take your drink order and clean away your plates. I never ate a bad meal, there was always something to eat, fresh salad, vegetables, meats, soup, fish, pizza, pasta, bread, omelettes, eggs, bacon, sausages, cakes, ice-cream. All the usual items you would find at an A/L buffet. The alcoholic drinks are not that strong and are served in plastic cups around the pool and in glasses in the restaurant. The beer was good and soft drinks were fine.
The evening entertainment was outside on the small stage at the front of the hotel, we didn't attend any shows, so can't comment on that. There is music and games around the main pool daily, there is a smaller/quieter pool downstairs from the restaurant if you prefer the peace. It's next to the Spa room, seating area and pool table. That pool is slightly warmer, with sunbeds, seating and a bar, the area is shaded in different parts and doesn't get the sun throughout the day.
There are snacks available throughout the day at the both pool areas, make sure to try one of the ice creams from the bar, they're like miniature chocolate magnums and were very nice. Alex and Bob manage all the entertainment throughout the day, they're both really friendly and work hard keeping everyone entertained.
The main Ixia strip is a 10 minute walk away, just come out of the hotel, turn left and keep walking you'll arrive at the bars and restaurants. If you turn right, that's the way to Rhodes Old Town, there are also bars and restaurants up that way, but the walk is more like 25-30 minutes. You can walk to Rhodes old Town but it's a good 45-50 minutes, you can also get a bus (they get really packed), or a taxi, (which we did) which costs €15 each way. The hotel do a shuttle service at different times throughout the day, you can book at reception, they will also book you a taxi. You can book excursions from the main lobby area.
We had a nice time and enjoyed our stay. The best part was the view from the room, which was spectacular!

After a holiday in Lindos my daughter became ill at the airport and Jet 2 sent us here, arriving 2am on a Monday morning. Greeted by Vasili at the front desk, by day 3 he was my hero. We stayed two nights in two different rooms whilst she recovered and got a fit to fly note but we were back for a third night after a cancelled flight. Being greeted by Vasili at 4am and discovering he had managed to get us into a room we could sleep in beyond checkout was such a relief. It’s not a hotel I would normally choose but it’s clean, good air conditioning and nice rooms with good amenities near by. The staff were all lovely and because of the way we were treated, my daughter is desperate to come back (despite not even being able to enjoy the pool!)
