Caravel

This was our 10th year staying here at the Caravel and the hotel did not disappoint and all superbly run by the owner Nita and her wonderful staff. Room was a 1 bedroom apartment and was wonderful, room was cleaned every day we were there with towels and bedding changed on a very regular basis it was also quiet and had everything you needed for self catering. We stayed bed and breakfast for 14 nights with the breakfast served in the Coconut restaurant which is attached to the hotel, breakfast had all you wanted and was kept topped up at all times.

We had a fabulous stay at this hotel despite my 4/5 rating. Staff are super lovely, the apartment we had was amazing, huge amount of space with 2 large balconies which were a sun trap most of the day. The apartment had the usual kettle, fridge, plenty of crockery and cutlery, almost everything you need, would be nice to have a toaster. It was kept spotlessly clean, yes there were areas that needed updating/repairing,it doesn't affect your stay though. For us it was in the perfect location, 2 mins to the beach, 1 min away from the restaurants,bars and shops, 20 mins away from Rhodes Town, overall perfect. Yes you had to hand your key in whenever you went out even going to the pool, this isn't a problem though and at least you are not risking losing it as there is a 50 euro charge. There is a safe in the room which is free of charge which is a nice touch. Pool towels can be borrowed from the hotel. We never had a problem getting a sunbed despite the pool area being small and not many sunbeds. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return next time we are in Ixia.

There were two of us staying at the hotel. I felt that the room was very spacious and nice. The staff were also very nice and committed to their work. I also think the cleaning was very good. One thing I thought was quite nice was that you left the key at the reception because then you did not have to worry about dropping it when you visited town or were on the beach. The pool area was not super large but there was always room for those who wanted to spend time there. It was also close to bars, shops, restaurants and to the beach which was very nice. However, it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room when we cooked some food when we were there. But generally I am super happy with my stay there and for the price we paid I had significantly lower expectations, I can highly recommend this!
