Club Calimera Porto Angeli

The Porto Angeli Beach Resort was fantastic. I treated myself to a junior suite with a private pool and it was absolutely beautiful. The room was clean, spacious, with a separate lounge area and absolutely loads of storage. The outdoor space was wonderful, with your own sun loungers, table and chairs. I had a view of the sea and enough privacy that I could lay by myself and sunbathe. Be warned though, you can't control who has the rooms on either side of you, so if you are looking for peace and quiet whilst you sunbathe and enjoy your pool, you may be best advised getting a Gea Suite, which is adults only. The staff were all amazing. Everybody was very helpful and very friendly. The food in the restaurant was lovely. It was always plentiful, lots of different choice, fresh and tasty. I wasn't overly keen on the Taverna food, but that's only me being fussy and as it is a set menu, you get what you are given. The food was nice and the setting pleasant. However, the food and setting at the A La Carte was divine. The view was amazing. The only thing I regret was leaving that restaurant to the end of my stay, because I wish I could have gone back more times. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Its literally across a small road from the hotel. The beach is very nice. It's quite packed and crowded, but it is nice and it was lovely to get in the sea, which is calm and not too cold. The hotel provide the comfiest sun loungers I have ever experienced. I would strongly suggest that the same loungers are used in the Junior suites, as by comparison, the actual one provided are very hard and uncomfortable. The only negative that I would say is just a warning to people that maybe don't have quite so much mobility. Because my junior suite was at the top of the hill, it was quite a walk to get back to the room. So if you go down for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's quite a slog to go back up again in the heat, but I didn't find it a problem. I just took my time and stopped at the bar on the way up and had a cold drink and a breather, and then carried on walking. There is a lift to get you up the final bit of the hill. The only other thing that I was a little disappointed with is not to do with the hotel, but more the location and that it's not really on a transport route, so if you wanted to do trips, even if the tour operator said they were collecting from the hotels, they didn't collect from this hotel or very few did that i could find. Unless you arranged a private tour, you would have to get to the nearest town yourself before they collected you, so you were a little bit out of the way. If you're there with a car absolutely perfect, you can get to wherever you like, no problem. But if you're there and reliant on public transport, then be warned to check that you can get your trips from that hotel that are advertised, because I couldn't, but would I stay again absolutely. The highlight for me was the private pool. The food was very nice, and the location was beautiful and very scenic. There was one low light, and that was the giant spider that greeted me in my room on the first night, so be warned, there is wildlife around! I would Definitely recommend.

I stayed in this resort for 4 days. Exceptional. The staff is very helpful, courteous, and attentive to every need. From the staff in the dining area to the bartenders and receptionists. The resort is meticulously maintained in every detail, with thorough cleaning of both the resort and the rooms. The beach is just steps away with direct access from the resort, featuring spacious and comfortable loungers and a water and beverage dispenser available on the beach. A heartfelt thank you to the manager who assisted us with a problem caused by us.

The hotel looks very nice visually. The terraced layout is also great and spreads everything out - the reception and dining room are below, and on the way up, there are various rooms with pools, an entertainment area, a playground, etc. The facility looks well-maintained and evokes a vacation feeling. The food was good and varied; only the waiting time, especially during dinner, is annoying. The staff is usually always friendly. The beach was nice; unfortunately, the straw of the sunshades is already partially really damaged, which is particularly inconvenient for children. That should be replaced soon. Unfortunately, the lounge chairs are still being reserved; that should perhaps be communicated better. People place their belongings on it in the morning and only return in the late afternoon to use them.... A major problem, in my opinion, was the cleanliness of the room. Upon arrival, it was okay, but for over 9 days, neither the shower nor the sink was cleaned. It was quickly wiped down and the bed was made, but nothing more. It was quite dirty in the corners, especially the bathroom, which I found somewhat disgusting. Silicone joints were open and brittle, and the shower tray sagged in the middle. Definitely not worth 5 stars. All in all, it was a nice vacation, and the hotel is generally recommendable.
