We went on holiday here and I’m always a very open minded person. I don’t believe a hotel will define your holiday and you make your own holiday, however this was the WORST HOTEL we have ever stayed in. If you have this booked, do yourself a favour and pay the extra money to change your booking. We spend a small fortune eating out. The WIFI was also awful and hugely unreliable.
We stayed here as a group of 6, myself, my husband, our 2 kids (16 & 10) and my elderly parents one of which has reduced mobility.
Before arriving, I had emailed the hotel asking if they could possibly give my parents a low down room due to mobility issues, and if we could possibly be near them to assist. We were placed at the furthest away point from their room. However my parents were given a ground level room.
We arrived after 11pm on our arrival day and were giving a cheese and ham sandwich and told there was a payable bar if we wanted a drink - any other place has always provided food and drink for people arriving late off flights.
The hotel also remove your all inclusive wrist band at 11am on check out day as they state this is when all inclusive ends. I’ve never came across this in any country I’ve ever visited. Our transfer wasn’t collecting us until 7.30pm so we had a long day of waiting around and were told we could not keep our wristbands.
Location
There is not a lot immediately around the hotel and you need to walk a good 20 mins to reach shops etc. There is a small overpriced mini market outside the hotel however if you walk 10-15 mins up the road to the left, there is a larger supermarket.
There is a public bus stop right outside the hotel for going into bigger towns and the Old town.
The rooms
My parent’s room was actually pretty nice, next to the pool and lowdown, their room seemed to be a bit more modern than our room.
Our room was on the second floor in the main reception building. The first two nights the aircon didn’t work but they sent someone to fix it and it was fine after. My teenager didn’t fit in the bed and was hanging out of it most the time - probably better suited to young kids (not a 6ft child). Both my sons said it was the most uncomfy sleep they have ever had and compared it to what they’d expect a prison bed to be like. Storage in our room for a family of 4 was not ideal - one wardrobe and a few small drawers but we managed. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, with no toilet paper provided for 2 days. My husband did ask reception and they provided some.
My parents room had a sofa bed in it and one of my kids ended up staying there a lot, allowing my other son to use the two ‘mattresses’ in our room to get a better more comfortable sleep.
The pool/snack bar
The bar itself was fine and offered usual all inclusive drinks you’d expect. The pool bar opening times were meant to be 10-6, however I don’t think there was one day when it stayed open to 6pm, closing at 5.30pm most days with the only other bar located at reception which was quite a walk for my parents.
The snacks provided were fine but not what I’ve previously had at other all inclusive resorts. The only things on offer were pizza (most of which is left lying for a long time), chips (again, left lying for a long time) and some rolls or wraps with cheese and ham. There was also a fruit basket but this has got to be the most basic all inclusive snack bar I have ever seen.
The snack bar also provided the ice cream but this was only available from 2pm onwards which I’ve never experienced anywhere I’ve stayed before. And this wasn’t available generally after 4pm.
Behind the snack bar was absolutely disgusting and covered in rubbish and debris (I don’t know how they’ve managed to keep rats away). I’ll include pictures below.
The pools
There are 3 pools at the main pool area. The biggest one is very deep and not ideal for kids unless they are strong swimmers. The lifeguard was non existent and spend his full shifts on a phone. There were several injuries around the pool and the lifeguard was no where to be seen or help assist for any of these. The pool area was very slippy and I appreciate this is expected next to a pool, but even when walking several kids and adults kept slipping and falling at the same parts.
The sunbeds were a nightmare. If you wanted one, you had to be down at 6am and although the hotel state not to do this, it’s the only way to get a sunbed. The pool area is absolutely disgusting. There is no sign of it being cleaned the full 10 days we were there. There was cat poo and discarded cigarettes all around the side of the pool. It was clear there was no attempt to clean the pool area, the only pool maintenance we seen was a worker topping up the chlorine at night.
The toilets at the pool were awful. Absolutely soaking, lots of discarded waste and zero toilet paper.
The only positive is that the hotel did not care one bit if you swam after hours so we got lots of nice evening swims in when it was cooler and quieter which was nice.
There was another great pool at the restaurant- zero signs of any lifeguard, although not that they’d do anything anyway other than sit on a phone. There is also no sunbeds at this pool.
There is also a water park pool area that opens at 11am and closes at 5pm (I think). People are queuing outside this before it opens to go in and get sunbeds. When I first seen this, I thought they had somewhere for drinks and food as they had a wee kiosk type building with the shutters down, however this did not open for the duration of our holiday. And there are big signs outside the water park stating no food and drink were allowed inside, only bottled water.
We visited this a few times during our visit and it wasn’t busy which was good as we never had to queue for the slides. The waterpark park was good and there is also a lazy river but it’s a good bit away from the main pool.
The restaurant
The restaurant was tiny in size with one station for salad/deserts and the other for hot food. Any time I’ve ever went all inclusive there has always been something my kids will eat, but my youngest son was surviving on chips at lunch and dinner and we spent a fortune taking the kids for meals out. There wasn’t even chicken nuggets or burgers that the kids could have.
Even breakfast was awful and it’s really difficult to mess breakfast up. But this hotel managed it. No pastries or anything like this and the queue for the toaster was a mile long. So in the end, we ended up having a lie in rather than getting up for breakfast.
My son and I accidently spilled some tomato sauce at dinner time once and the dining room staff, an older woman, started screaming at us in Greek (I assume) despite us trying to clean up and apologising.
For a hotel the size of this one, the dining room was tiny and inadequate to serve all those people. Queues were awful to wait in for awful food. People were taking in Tupperware containers and taking all the desserts (presumably for later) and not one member of staff challenged this. So if you wanted food/dessert, you had to wait for new ones to come out which was slow.
The entertainment
The entertainment team were lovely and so friendly, they made an effort to come round every day (apart from Sunday when there is no entertainment) to speak to us and ask us how we were. They done the best with what resources they had, but even a few of them said it was the WORST HOTEL they had ever worked at! Activities during the day were repetitive and on offer for my kids was French Ball, Darts and Volleyball, along with Aqua Zumba. Although my youngest was told he could not do volleyball as it was just for adults. So the most limited day time entertainment programme we have ever experienced. The nighttime entertainment was equally as awful. There was one night they brought external singers in, however we didn’t attend as the evening bar (in the reception building) was the only bar open and not next to where this was taking place.
The drama
Whilst we were there, a family of 6 were staying and the man (early 40s) was removed from the hotel and sent to jail for following young girls into the toilets. However once he was released, he came back to the hotel and was allowed to continue his holiday despite the threat he posted to other guests. He wandered around the resort steaming with his poor kids floating about a pool with water wings.
The second incident was when a guest punched his patio door, this smashed and he then walked through this with glass shards injuring him. The glass clearly isn’t safety glass and it’s scary that this could shatter with a punch. But what’s more concerning is people acting like this in a family hotel who are still allowed to remain.
There were a number of smaller incidents also.
Despite this, Rhodes is lovely and I’d recommend exploring the island and Symi Island which was beautiful.
But for the money, it was not worth a penny. If they offered me a free holiday, I still wouldn’t go.

Nice hotel with several pools and clean rooms. The best part was most certainly lovely Eva in the A La Carte bar - she makes you laugh whilst mixing you a great cocktail! Every hotel should have an Eva!
