Kresten Palace Hotel

We staid as a family of 4, and we had a nice time at this hotel. The swim-up pool was fantastic, and the staff was friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant. We only tried the cocktail bar once and were not very pleased. At the restaurant we really want to point out the extraordinary service by waiters Niki and Dabo! We had a lovely time. And also the option for child care/ play times everyday were nice. We are considering to visit this hotel again in the future. We have two very small kids under four years, and the different pools on site are perfect also for this age. 🙂👍🏻

We have had the most amazing experience at Kresten Palace. The hotel is beautiful, the staff work very hard to ensure you are happy and looked after. Kiko and his entertainment team go above and beyond. The room was clean and beds made every day. We had a sea and pool view. Watching the sunset and rise was very special. We booked a trip to Lindos through the hotel, was fantastic. Bus stop and taxi rank right outside of the hotel. A trip to the Old town is a Must. The hotel restaurant is very clean and the food was delicious, plenty of choice and the staff are very helpful during breakfast and dinner. We are off to Symi tomorrow, and then its time to pack and say our goodbyes. This is by far one of the best holidays I have experienced and if you are thinking of booking here please do. PLEASE book a massage ( very good and helped relieve tension) and use the Sps You will not be disappointed. I will definately return here. Thank You Kresten Palace for an amazing experience. Pluses and minuses with this 4 (?) star hotel, which should be said is in a lovely setting looking out to sea. At least if you haven’t got a room facing the road that is! Location ok, as easy to get around by bus and the stops are pretty much outside the hotel. Fifteen minutes to Rhodes Town @ €3.50 one way; €2.50 return if you buy at the bus station ticket office. Public spaces of the hotel are mostly nice, but the buildings housing some of the rooms definitely need some TLC. Also, a number of the pathways in the complex are broken and uneven and this needs sorting,especially for the infirm. The corridor and stairway to our swim up room had the appearance of a prison block, made worse by a continual dribble of water down one wall, apparently from leaking pipes, (according to reception), that no one seemed to be fixing until the second week of our stay. This was in the corridor,(not a room by the way), opposite rooms 809/810. Also, whilst we love wild life, there are loads of swifts nesting in the eaves/corridors and they do leave a mess unfortunately. Our swim up room was mostly ok, although it too needed some fixing up, peeling paint etc. Beds really comfortable, fridge, shower fine and decent air con. Could have done with more toiletries other than just hand soap dispensers, drawers for better storage and a couple of hooks in the bathroom. WiFi isn’t the best, especially in the rooms. Considering the high percentage of UK guests, a couple or so more English speaking channels would be good other than Sky & BBC News. One word of caution for sun worshippers; some of the terraces of the swim-up rooms lose the sun after about 3.30 in the afternoon. Swim up pool great though. Sun loungers on our terrace needed pads as they are hard plastic! The other swim up block seems to have them? Nevertheless, there is a really good separate large pool area for everyone, with loads of sun loungers,(not sure what it’s like in Summer though). Most people seem on breakfast & dinner package,(lunch has to be paid for at the pool restaurant, Blu), and food was mostly ok at both sittings. Not massive choices and sometimes a bit lukewarm, depending what time you arrive. Staff are brilliant and so eager to help. Big shout out to the waitress and bartenders in the Cocktail Bar, especially at happy hour time, which is definitely worth it, (4-6.30). Very quiet hotel, which suited us, so not sure about the evening entertainment? Beach non existent and a bit run down. Don’t bother, as there are far better on the island. All in all, nice place, but definitely not 4 star standard and needs some updating, especially with the paintbrush! Sort it out Kresten Palace and make the structure as pleasant as the staff. Don’t forget the local tourist tax payable at reception on arrival @ €10 per night. Cash preferred.
