Mitsis Rodos Maris Resort & Spa

I visited with my wife for 4 Night in May 2026, excellent location next to hotel own private beach, food serve 24 hrs, 3 restaurant for dinner, need to book in advance (pan Asian, Maxican & American) if you don't like dinner then you can go to main buffet restaurant also, Fresh orange juice in breakfast was awesome. I am not a big fan of drink but there is lot option for Alcoholic, Mocktail drink, drink available on beach also, snack is available all day including Ice-cream, You can find vegetarian option fairly good as we both are vegetarian, lots of other activity all day including music evening but we haven't attended, so I can't comment on this. Overall we enjoyed a lot that we can't able to explain in word and we definitely going back again. Mitsis group of resort are very good, so try other location also.

WE stayed at the Mitsis Rodos Maris for 10 days from 4-14 July 2026. WE had stayed there the previous September and were aware that there were likely to be some changes. The room was clean, had a balcony with a sea view as requested. a fridge with a fully stocked minibar, a bath and shower, hairdryer. The bed was extremely comfy. The bathroom was a little dated and although the shower was not a rainfall shower, it was very powerful and more than adequate. We did not see any ants, cockroaches, we did not get any bites and did not use bug spray, the only things we saw were some huge grasshoppers, who were quite harmless and no problem at all, and this as not in our room. WE had booked the a la carte restaurants before we arrived and I would recommend this. Once you have booked you can use the Mitsis app to see the restaurants and book. You get a free meal at each restaurant for every week you stay. They were all good, but my favourite was the Greek a la carte - I cannot recommend the octopus starter highly enough. You an order more than one of each course as well - we had the octopus, keftedes and a kind of feta type spring roll, drizzled with honey. Delish. We also had 4 starters at the Pan Asian - ribs, spring rolls, chicken wings and tempura prawns - as well as sushi. I have seen some not very favourable comments regarding the food at the buffet. However, we found the food to be varied and good. Many people were sticking to the English type food - chips, pasta, English breakfast etc. You cannot expect a foreign country to be experts on English food. The Greek food was amazing - if you broaden your horizons a bit, it will pay off. The citrus fruit was fabulous - sweet juicy oranges, grapefruit. Fresh bread, Greek yogurt with nuts and honey, and souvlaki, chicken, gyros, plenty of fresh salad. Cocktails are fabulous - there is a great variety, although the taste and makeup did vary depending on the bar staff. I can recommend the bellini and the amaretto sour, and the berry smash mocktail was lovely. The beach is a work in progress. There are plenty of sunloungers and some really comfy bean bags. Having said that, we did set our alarms early and had had breakfast and were on the beach by 8am. This was always the best part of the day. The sea was like a glass pool, the sun was not too hot, there were very few people around, no children, no music - fantastic. Most of the sunbeds were reserved by 830-9am. The bars were open at 10am - they did water, beer, soft drinks, cocktails - and there were huts with fresh pizza, noodles, salad or fruit also on the beach, which opened at 12. There is some ongoing building - the gym was not yet ready but not far off - at the back of the beach, and the main issue for us, although not a real deal breaker - there were no showers at the beach, although they were being put in when we were there. There is a foot washing tap at the back of the beach though. Building work takes place early int he morning or in the evening so not an issue. WE did not use the main pool but it did seem that the sunbeds were reserved very early. I must also mention the lovely cafe bar under a huge fig tree which is very popular because it is so cool and shady. One big thing I need to mention is the the staff. They make this place. Apart from the receptionist when we first arrived, who I think was in training, they were, to a man, fabulous. The bar and food staff at the beach were all friendly and up for a bit of banter about football etc. The waiting staff are lovely. One especially deserves a mention - Elisavet in the lobby bar. I have seen her spoken about here before. She was delightful. Always stopping for a chat, very attentive, very friendly - it felt like we knew her already. She is an absolute credit to the hotel. She was also very grateful when we thanked her for her service. This lady is worth her weight in gold and should be recognised. She got to know our drinks orders off by heart (although we did try and throw her off a few times!) Having said all this, we did find that the last weekend, the penultimate weekend of the school term in the UK, things changed dramatically. It got much busier - there were large groups everywhere, and if you happened to be behind them at the bar and they were ordering 15 cocktails, you were there all night. Queues started at the buffet, which had not been there before. There were a lot of children, so the creperie and gelato (under the fig tree previously mentioned) were nearly always packed with them, they were running past your sunbed kicking sand in your face, their inflatables were being blown all over the place, the whole atmosphere changed. Also, music started to be played through speakers at the beach - not usually an issue but from 9am until we left at 6pm, it was the same mix over and over every day. It was beginning to grate on our nerves. There were also a lot of groups of young lads and ladies who seemed to think that we all wanted to hear their particular musical favourites through their phones, loud discussions and phone calls with mates at home, and Instagram models having their photos taken by their travel buddy while they posed and pouted in various parts of the beach/pool area/bar. In short, if you want a more relaxed holiday vibe, avoid school and uni holidays like the plague - I think most people had decided to forget about the last week of term and go a week early to avoid the summer holiday price hikes. In summary, this is a lovely hotel and when the work is completed it will be even better. However, as it is at the cheaper end of the Mitsis spectrum, it is frequented by large groups, young adults and families - avoid school and uni holidays or your experience will not be as good as it could be.

For the third consecutive year we trusted the Mitsis group for our family holidays and the Mitsis Rodos Maris gave us a wonderful stay. What we distinguished: The food: In contrast, the best and most delicious food we have had in our group hotels. The service: Already since our detention with Mrs. Fegu, everything went perfectly. The people: It's the real hotel diamond. Their kindness, willingness and genuine smile made us feel like friends. A big "thank you" separately: At Stefania (Reception) for the warm welcome and immediate service whenever we needed it. To Vangelis at the reception and Mr. Dimitri at the cafe for their authenticity and warmth. To Mr. Manoli (Bar Manager) and Despia who, although we met them last night, won us immediately. To Stella, Christos and Ioanna at the bars, to the saviors Thodoris and Raphael, to Milica (Concierge), to Mrs. Angela (Guest Relations) and all staff at the restaurant. Although the building complex may need a renovation and there have been small details to be improved, the quality of the people overrides everything. As we say in Cyprus, “the homeless in the country” — and at Mitsis Rodos Maris you have people who really make a difference. Thank you for everything, at the end of the day!
