Kastro Suites

Hotel ideally located, close to the upper station of the cable car, with a breathtaking view of the caldera and Fira. We had the family suite with the ideally placed jacuzzi. The welcome was very good, but the reception is not available at all times, and you have to use WhatsApp to contact them. The breakfast served at the table is plentiful, varied, and of good quality. The service is professional but not very warm. The pool is small, not heated, and there are not enough loungers to enjoy the sun. At the service level, bottles of water are available in the room as well as a Nespresso machine, but during our four-night stay, neither the capsules nor the empty water bottles were replaced. The receptionist offered to help us with our luggage, but I did not dare to have her carry my suitcase.

Spent 4 days in Sept ‘25. Could not imagine nicer hosts! Helped us with luggage, airport transportation, delicious hearty breakfast served on our balcony, fresh daily linens. Absolutely wonderful! Room (102), was quiet and private, facing the caldera, included patio, pool, fridge/freezer, AC, comfy queen bed, large tub, was like a glimpse of heaven. Only downside was the many steep stairs down to our room, which were difficult to manage because I am handicapped, but this is to be expected on a cliffside in Fira. Highly recommended!

We stayed in 201. Great view from the room, but in truth, it's a great view from any location on the property. Watch the donkeys clip, clop down the path outside your room, gaze at the amazing waters of the caldera and enjoy the evening lights of Fira, all without even leaving your room. Chris and Gabriel were fantastic to work with. Very knowledgeable accommodating and friendly. We had the most cheerful waitress each morning, and what a great breakfast. They are presently updating so I can only imagine how fantastic it will be. We had to leave early morning so they arranged a packed breakfast and popped it in our fridge. It is up the hill so vehicles can only access to a certain point but Chris helped with the bags and we got used to the short walk very quickly. It's a hive of activity in the area but in your room it feels peaceful and private. This was the highlight of our trip and I highly recommend this location. I hope I can return in the future.
