Suites of the Gods Cave Spa

I stayed at this property on 08/19/26. Granted that the staff is very kind and professional. I did not like the property for the following reasons: - some rooms (the one they had assigned us before the change) overlook the pool where the music is very loud until 9:00 PM (not relaxing) - the rooms are dirty and with poorly maintained details (mold in the sink) - the gym has broken equipment The view during sunset is to be appreciated

5-star hotels are something else. This is trashy and dirty. We stayed only one night, and thankfully so. Upon arrival, they had assigned us a room overlooking the pool (master suite bedroom) that had absolutely nothing "master" about it. You are at the same level as the pool with club music at a very high volume until 11:00 PM, which makes resting impossible. Furthermore, access to the room is directly from the pool area, and this implies that you cannot keep anything open (windows or door) because anyone could enter. The staff changed our room and gave us one with a beautiful view of the caldera, but that was the only beautiful thing about it. The room is dirty, the sofa has stains everywhere, the bathtub is hideous (don't let their photos fool you); we didn't dare get into it. The bathroom sink faucet is broken and has mold on it.

It takes a lot for me to give a poor rating to a hotel given our travels but I am sad to say this one deserves it. When we arrived, the staff were quite friendly and obliging However we were given a room by the pool which constantly plays loud music and is more a party location for the young and beautiful. We were told that we should just shut the doors to block it out. This made no difference. We asked reception for a quieter room but were that there simply were none available. I offered to pay more for a quiet room. After 10 minutes of thumping noise ( with the doors shut ) it felt like a prison. With shutters open also there is no privacy. We decided then that we’d just leave. The pool rooms are not for people who want a quiet place to stay. As we were leaving and handed in the key, the manager George asked us why we were leaving. I explained the situation to him. Ie that were told that there were no other rooms available and that we did not want to stay there. He indicated there actually were rooms available. This is what upset me the most …the staff clearly lied to us. Maybe this is just their strategy to rent the poolside rooms. In any event we left. We were to happy forfeit the room rental paid Ps we went to a lovely hotel by the name of Apanemo just up the road a little further where the staff were warm and obliging , the views were brilliant and the rooms quiet and were exceptional. Apanemo 10 out of 10 if you’re looking Suites of the Gods 1/10 …and that’s for the onsite parking all the best.
