Hotel Casa Encantada

We had an excellent 1 night stay at Casa Encantada! After spending the previous night hiking a volcano, it was so nice to arrive (slightly early), at the hotel and relax. Our room was ready for us despite being a couple of hours early and check in was very easy. We received 2 complimentary drink tickets upon arrival and were able to enjoy some quiet reading time by the pool and garden. The included breakfast was particularly delicious and the hotel was able to arrange swift airport transportation for us. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Antigua!

Only thing good about this hotel is the service. The staff are excellent (both front desk as well as restaurant. I am giving a rating of 3 out of 5 due to the size of the rooms. They are so small that two people cannot stand on one side of the bed. There is no place to hang/store your stuff. There is a small wooden closet and half of that is occupied by a laundry basket. To charge devices we had to hunt for the electrical outlets and had to unplug the lamps. For the price they charged it was a disappointment. I had high expectation for this hotel but it was not to be.

I had a ground floor room for one night as part of a trip on the way to Lake Atitlan. Even earplugs couldn’t block the noise of the motorcycle stand outside my room. I think sleep is more important than charm - I look for both.
