Hotel Posada Don Valentino

Not allowed to sleep past 6 or 7 a.m. ! Every morning of the five spent here, the receptionist and other employees have been talking and laughing at the desk, which is right by the rooms, at these early hours. They also do this in the corridors. They make no effort to speak softly, but rather do so at full voice. Guests who are at the reception desk are not reminded to lower their voices. My second morning, about eight people in their 50s to 70s were at the reception and in the corridors speaking loudly as if in a bar while dealing with the young man on duty. This, at 7 a.m. When reporting this problem to the manager, she either lied to me that she would resolve the issue, or her employees have no respect for her. Also at these early hours and after 9 p.m., children are allowed to run up and down the corridor making as much noise as they wish as they yell to each other. This has also happened every morning and evening during my stay. The management does absolutely nothing to stop this. My worst hotel experience ever. I am a seasoned traveler of decades having visited 35 countries. Btw, this is by no means a cheap hotel. The cost is about $50 per night.

A very economical and quiet place. I really liked the savings plan. It is close to the center and has everything very close. They change dollars right there and there is hot water. They also have WiFi and air. Very friendly people. I highly recommend it.

We had used this same hotel for four stays, each for three weeks at a time. Up until this visit we were quite satisfied with Posada Don Valentino. On our last visit (2023) the room had a fridge, two bedside lamps, two lights in the bathroom, a table, plus the hotel offered a laundry service, and free coffee. This time, no fridge, no lamps, one light in the bathroom, no table, no laundry service and no free coffee! (BTW...this is the same room) If it was not for the friendly, helpful staff, we would have been very disappointed! At most hotels we have stayed in around the world, the hotel bill is paid at the end of the stay. Despite having paid 50% of the three week stay ahead of time, from day one we were constantly being asked when we were going to pay the balance. To pay with a credit card...we were told there would be a 10% surcharge! Yes there is a open-air patio.....you just have to share it with the hotel's laundry! And no...there are no umbrellas.
