Holland Guest House

our mindset to stay in the hotel was ‘it will just be a place to rest after a long day of exploring’ - was a big mistake. Access to the room on the 15floor is only 1 lift that cater not only for tenants/tourist but is a service lift too, (for garbage disposal, prepared food for eateries in the ground floor, etc.) hence the smell. The ‘family’ room that we were apparently moved to as the room for 3 that we booked for is not available is so SMALL and narrow that there is no space to walk facing forward in the remaining space after the beds. No space for luggages too, even under the bed as it was used for storage. The worst part of all is the electricity tripping OFF every time we switched ON the water heater. for 4days of our 7days/6nights stay we don’t have hot water in the toilet. the first time it happened we call and informed the cleaner (receptionist is not available) she came to our roomand try to turn ON the power in the circuit breaker but once she turn ON the water heater power, it tripped OFF. as we were going out we sent an email to the provided contact snd they acknowledged receipt of the complaint. when we arrived late in the evening we did not bother turning on the water heater. in the morning when we turn it ON again-tripped OFF again. we called the receptionist and once again only the cleaner came and told us that she thought the issue was looked after already. next day, same scenario but this time the receptionist himself answered the call and what irritates us the most is what he was saying-the issue was because of our charger hence water heater power is tripping OFF. what an excuse! as we don’t want our vacation to go into waste, we just accept our faith.

Booking the rooms were easy and certainly fine for the budget we tried to adhere to. Four nights per room were approximately $72/total. However, the proprietor, Mr. Singha, and his son were rude, Kurt, abrupt and dismissive during our entire stay. After the first night, I was moved without my knowledge to a different, smaller room with no explanation. My room was never cleaned, garbage thrown out, soap replaced in the dispenser, nor fresh towels. The WiFi was NON existent due to location being in a dead spot. There are several proprieties for rent within the criteria of Holland Guest House. Try one of those....you’ll have a much better experience.
