We booked here to stay in the central and go to the Christmas markets. I booked this for me, my partner and my 1 year old. My shuttle bus was late from the airport and we arrived a little later than we wanted which was 10:20pm. Edgar had my this time messaged me to tell me he wasn't showing us to our room but he had left the key in the door for us, and the door fob to the main door of all the apartmetns was at the pizza house next door.
Once we got there, the pizza house was closed, we had no way of getting in, Edgar wouldn't answer his phone, he told us to wait until somebody else used the door and then we could get in.
It was -3 at this time of night and we had a baby, I asked him if he could please come and let us in as it was cold, we had many bags and it was getting pretty late.
He told me no, and advised me to get a different hotel, which cost the amount for 1 night as it should have done to stay at Edgars apartments for 3 nights.
I'd really avoid booking this hotel, to somebodies business that can leave guests waiting outside with no way of getting in isn't good enough.

My daughter and I rented an Opera apartment. We travelled by train and room was a 15min walk from train station. Edgar met us at the apartment and showed us the room. The heating had to stay on so the apartment was lovely and warm. The room was a bit dated but is in a great location to explore Budapest. Separate kitchen with basic utensils & equipment (no bowls!). Large shower room. Everywhere was clean, tidy and warm! Would recommend a stay here and Budapest was amazing!

When I first booked this apartment, I thought it was too good to be true. Staying in very central Budapest, in an extremely affluent and desirable neighbourhood; a whole apartment for 2 at just over 40 pounds a night. What was the catch? Well, there was none. Edgar is an excellent manager and 'people person'. He handled the booking exceptionally well, as well as providing the keys to the apartment. He even suggested my partner and I could leave our bags somewhere after we had checked out, as we had a very late flight. A true gentleman! And totally trustworthy.
The apartment is ever so slightly dated, but that is/was all part of the appeal and charm for me. I think it would be a pity if the apartment was gentrified and spruced up beyond recognition. You have immensely high ceilings, huge bay windows facing out onto a courtyard; and incredibly long 'French' wooden shutters. Coming in to the courtyard at night, looking up at the elegant balconies and windows was pure romance; as was climbing the sweeping staircase. (There is also a lift serving the building too). There is a plethora of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés literally beneath the apartments; handy for those not wanting to wander far and wide. The amenities below did not disturb my sleep in the slightest. The bed provided was immense, with the perfect mattress. The bathroom basic, but exceptionally clean and decently tiled. The kitchen had everything you could possibly wish for; an electric hob, toaster, kettle, refrigerator, microwave, glasses, mugs, utensils, pots, pans etc. Even some sugar and tea left behind by previous guests. For those too critical of the accomodation provided, consider how much a similar apartment in central London, Paris or New York would cost for a long weekend. Condider the location provided, the historic and architectural beauty of the building and it's locale to the Metro and tram network. Hats off to you Edgar, for helping to make my holiday pleasant and joyful.
