I stayed with my 11-year-old daughter from June 21 to June 24, and unfortunately, the experience was decidedly negative. On June 22, after spending the morning exploring the city, we returned to the hotel around 2:30 PM intending to rest for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, it was impossible to do so due to a very loud drilling noise coming from the upper floors. I find it unacceptable that such noisy work is carried out in the middle of the afternoon, during a time when guests expect to be able to rest. As I was heading toward the elevator, I encountered a cleaning staff member who was also complaining about the noise coming from the upper floors. I then immediately went to the front desk, where I found another guest, a Palestinian lawyer, an extremely polite person, who was reporting the exact same problem. The front desk staff member, a man apparently between 40 and 45 years old, about 5'9" tall, with graying hair and red-framed reading glasses, addressed the situation with superficiality and a lack of professionalism, downplaying the problem and adopting an attitude that I perceived as mocking. At that point, I firmly requested to speak with the manager, stating that, in the absence of intervention, I would be forced to contact the police. The staff member handed me the business card of the manager, Gyula Bognar, stating that he was not present in the building and that I would need to contact him by phone. Unfortunately, after about two minutes, Mr. Gyula Bognar came out of a door adjacent to the front desk, clearly identifiable by the name tag pinned to his jacket. Faced with the evidence, the front desk staff member walked away without providing any explanation. The manager, who also manages the Danubius Hotel Astoria belonging to the same chain, assured me that the work would be completed within twenty minutes. In reality, the drilling noise continued for at least another thirty minutes, making it impossible for my daughter to rest. Additionally, the soundproofing of the rooms was poor: during the night, it was possible to clearly hear guests in the neighboring rooms using the shower and other normal noises, further compromising the quality of the stay. Finally, the cleaning service proved to be insufficient. For two consecutive days, returning to the hotel around 3:00 PM, the room had not yet been cleaned. On the third day, I was the one who had to expressly request the intervention of the staff. I regret leaving a negative review, but I believe that a hotel of this category must guarantee much higher standards, both in terms of organization and respect for guests. The attitude of the front desk staff member was, without a doubt, the most disappointing aspect of the entire stay.

Fairly modern, very well located, clean. Breakfasts are a bit expensive, especially for those like us who only order a cappuccino and a pastry. A few minor issues with the service: shower with body wash that needed to be refilled, shower drain that was not functioning properly. Minor details, but indicative of a lack of attention. Fast and friendly service at the reception.
