Mercure City Centre

We stayed in this hotel for the Hungarian GP. It was a reasonable price and a perfect location right in the center of Budapest city. Most of the city’s sights are within walking distance close by. If you wish to visit the fisherman’s Bastion ( which I highly recommend) this is about a 40 minute walk up a fairly steep hill. There is a funicular tram which takes you most of the way up the hill for those who do not fancy the walk. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the nearest underground station where we caught the first train to the circuit. Note - if you are over 65 travel is free. The hotel and our room was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. Despite its location it was very quiet at night ( we did stay on the 8th floor though) We booked breakfast with the room, which was worth it. It had a good selection of food to choose from.

Excellent location, in the center in the pedestrian zone, many shops, terraces, restaurants around. Very close to the Danube, a few minutes walk. Good breakfast, quite a lot of dishes, fruits, sweets, pancakes. Small double room and bathroom, but clean, very large and comfortable bed. In the room, a cup of coffee and tea, a free bottle of water and a mini fridge with drinks for a fee, no slippers, bathrobes or other personal items. In the bathroom, only shower gel and shampoo, towels. But all hotel very clean . Overall, it is a good hotel and I recommend it.
