Novotel Danube

Brilliant friendly service from the time we arrived. The rooms were spotless but a little dated. The views were breathtaking looking at Parliment house. This hotel is in a great location and there restaurant was first class we ate there every night. The restaraunt manager and staff were first class. This hotel is outstanding because of the service it delivered.

Everything you expect from a Novotel - clean, inexpensive, nice bar and friendly staff. Only minor gripe - the housekeeping removed our towels one day and did not replace them, aside from this all good.

At check-in we were allocated a room with a dated bathroom equipped for guests with disabilities - folding shower seat, grab bars, modified sanitary ware - despite not having any need. We kindly asked to change rooms and we were quickly answered that there was no other availability. No alternative, no excuse, no attempt at a solution. Accessible rooms exist for a very good reason: the problem is not the room, but having it assigned without notice and being liquidated when it is mentioned. For a hotel of this standard, such customer management is well below expectations - especially as a very first interaction. Tip: Always ask for confirmation of the room type assigned before boarding. Here the accessible ones seem to end up to those who have not requested them, without transparency.
