Platanus

I was very lost in Budapest with no idea what to do, but I stumbled into the Platanus Hotel for some wifi and directions and the front desk man was extremely helpful and kind, graciously explaining the subway system and the train stations as well as some of the best things to see around Budapest. Good representative of the city as a whole. Not sure about anything else in this place, but I would recommend it for this experience alone.

The staff is friendly and rooms are comfortable. The major drawback is the location which is bit off Center from the main town square where all the action happens. We used subway from the Nepliget station, which was about 300-400 mtrs from the hotel.

I have to say the location of this hotel is quite far from the city center, so you will have to either take a subway or tram. You can buy tickets at the stations. The room is somewhat clear but overall not so impressive. The bathroom also looks old and not very clean. The towels are provided. Hot/cold water works just fine. I liked that they have a mini-shop at the lobby where you can buy snacks and drinks. I did not like the location, staff (except the receptionist man) and the general aura.
