Baldursbra Guesthouse

It ices like this apartment is inhabited by Shrek and Donkey, and rented by Dagobert Duck. It is difficult to choose to complain about the apartment or the service... The apartment is large but with an extremely dirty kitchen and shower, no curtains in the living room and windows that do not close. The landlord does not help and abruptly hangs up and then does not answer

Extremely unfriendly hosts. Accommodation was ok but we had to call them for the Wi-Fi code, as we got nothing but the keypad codes in the info leading up to the stay. The instructions for the use of the hot tub were also nowhere to be found and after a really unfriendly response from the hosts re the wifi code, we didn’t feel comfortable calling them again. I hasten to add that the experience we had with the hosts of the other six places we stayed on our trip in Iceland was always very friendly and welcoming and nothing like the hosts at Baldursbra!

Lots of dust on skirtings and behind small refrigerator in bedroom. Bad smell from sink in bedroom. I note someone previously complained about this and the owners response was that it was due to geothermal water. However I stayed elsewhere in Iceland where water was also from geothermal source and there was no bad smell of water. A toilet on our floor had urine which was dried in on the front of the toilet, it appeared to be there for a while. The owner kindly stored our luggage and beds comfortable. I unfortunately cannot recommend this guesthouse due to hygiene standards.
