BB 44 Guesthouse

Far from the city center. Ok if you arrive from the airport and depart the next day for traveling Iceland. Otherwise no reason to stay on that neighborhood. Small rooms. Clean. Space for breakfast limited. Not adequate for groups. Nice the veranda in the garden.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, the guest house was a short drive from Reykjavik city center. We stayed 2 nights before commencing on our drive round the ring road in Iceland. Rooms are small but the living area and dining area is spacious. For special mention is the outdoor seating area with a covered glass dome that is heated. We used this area for dining. There is a kitchenette which is convenient for preparing our meals. Washing machine including washing powder is available for use. The parking space is limited but there are lots of street parking spaces just outside the guest house.

I highly recommend BB44 in Kopavogur, Iceland. Sigga was a warm and welcoming host. She was very informative when we asked directions and advice and patient with me when I screwed up something. The house is affordable, clean and comfortable. Loved having kitchen facilities (grocery shopping in a place other than home is fun, can teach you about the people and is a great way to experience the food of the country you are visiting.) They were not intrusive, always kind. For a group traveling together and having varying rooming needs (singles, couples, doubles) this is the place. It is conveniently located to a grocery store, a community pool, a major highway, and in a very walkable, safe neighborhood. I had a very wonderful trip to Iceland and feel it was in part to having great lodging.
