Centerhotel Arnarhvoll

Location was perfect, but our room was small and we couldn't turn the heating down. The room was very warm. On the other hand, we didn't take the trouble to complain about it, so that is our fault. The matrimonial bed was very good. We had a 3 person room and the third bed was not that good. Overall, there are nicer rooms in town for the money we spend.

Decent hotel stayed 2 nights, but probably wouldn't stay here again. Mostly because The shower was a shower head installed in a tiny bathroom (no shower pan) with a weird swinging plexiglass ineffective panel that did not work well. Water EVERYWHERE with showering despite trying various things. We had 2 rooms. 1 was odd shaped in corner so big enough. Our teenage twins had twin room with barely enough room for suitcases. We paid extra for Seaview which to be fair was ocean side of hotel but it's on other side of very busy road so pretty loud car noise if window open which needed to be open for ventilation. We came in August and high was 58 deg F but rooms to stuffy and warm without window open. Free Breakfast buffet was good and in beautiful 8th floor skybar. Also we got free drink tickets for bar which was nice. So all in all not bad but not great. We stayed at Reykjavik Saga which was much nicer.

We really enjoyed our few nights at Arnarhvoll. Our flight got us in really early but reception was able to allocate a room which was appreciated. Our room had everything we needed, although not luxurious (loved sitting in the chair which moulded to your back- I need one of those!) All staff during our stay were very hardworking, friendly and courteous. Great location to all downtown attractions, harbour etc and short walk to bus stop. We loved the vibe in the Sky Bar and there was a good range of drinks and snacks. Such a beautiful space to sit and look at the view, although it sadly rained for most of our trip. Good selection of breakfast options and staff replaced items quickly and kept the place clean and tidy. My husband was celebrating a special birthday and we appreciated the wee treat provided by the hotel. Wish we had more time and we could have checked out the spa facilities. We would definitely return here and would recommend to others. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
