Guesthouse Bina

Our short visit with Bina was indeed sweet. Being keen to head out into the lights of Reykjavík, we dropped our things and recieved a key to return in the early hours. The bed was comfortable (essential for our beer bloated faces) and the distance to town short enough that we only had to sell two limbs to afford the taxi ride - we were willing to offer four. The aspect of our stay that we enjoyed the most, however, was being in the company of our host. Bina is an intelligent and well travelled woman, who's sharp wit make a hungover coffee even more soothing. Thank you for sharing your home with us Bina! Willow & Pete

Access : - Easy parking in front of the apartment - 30 minutes walk from the city center : walk along the bay is the nicest option (if weather permits...) - Bus 12 and 16 to the Kirkjusandur-stop + short walk - Bus 14 to the Laugardalslaug-stop + very short walk (straeto-buses) 5 minutes walk to one of the nicer swimming pools in Reykjavik area, Laugardalslaug. Accommodation is okay, nothing exceptional. Using the bathroom while other guests are having breakfast on the other side of the door feels uncomfortable. WiFi available and good connection. Breakfast is available as an option. We didn't take it but it looked fine. Limited eating options nearby, it is best to go closer to the city centre.

I stayed with Bina last September. The room was exactly as advertised. Comfy bed/bedding, very minimal but enough for what I needed. Bina was very nice and accommodating. I had major flight issues and did not get to her place until midnight, not a problem. She is about a 30 minute walk into town - there is a store, bakery and a hostel cafe across the street and she is on 2 bus lines. Also one of the largest thermal pools is just 2 blocks away. Iceland is expensive and this was one of the cheapest place I found.
