Guesthouse Sunna

Location, location, location - Sunna definitely takes the cake. Right by the Hallgrimskirkja church and bus stop 8, we were easily able to get on our bus for the Golden Circle tour just a block away. Main streets were about a 10 minute walk away - maybe 20 minutes to the Old Town. Our room was quite large with a refrigerator and a very nice shower. The staff were very helpful in answering questions and the breakfast was a typical European breakfast with homemade banana bread! Note: you'll need to bring shampoo and a bar of soap or purchase one at the desk. Also, if you walk to the Guesthouse from the Harpa Concert Hall, it is all uphill, but doable.

Rooms are small. Bathrooms have been added and are similar in size to a large walk in closet with sliding door. Bring your own soap, shampoo & conditioner. The “natural mineral water” has an unpleasant sulfur smell. It works for washing and is safe to drink. Skip the breakfast here and take the short walk to Braud & Company where they have fresh cinnamon rolls & other delicious choices.

The location and cleanliness of the guesthouse exceeded our expectations. 3 rooms share the bathroom which was spotless as was the kitchen which is on each floor. We had third floor so views were really good of town and sea in the distance. Definitely would recommend this place.
