Hotel Ork

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ork in early August. We had a junior suite and a superior room, which were very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice. We were across the road from a delicious food hall with tasty selections. A bakery and soft serve ice cream were also nearby. Good proximity to Reykjavik and Golden Circle and the new Laugeras Lagoon. Vik was about 2 hours. Eldhestar riding was just 5 minutes down the road, and there was nice hiking (Reykjadalur trail) passing near sheep, horses, and even a geysir, and offering great vista views. Very convenient and tidy hotel that worked as a central base for our adventures. (Recommend having a rental car.)

Overall our stay was good. The family room was updated, spacious ans had all the amenities that we needed. Downside was the room was HOT without any means to control the temperature other than opening a small window. The common areas (pool area, game room, hallways, etc) were worn / showing their age and definitely in need of some updates.

The food was great and it is convenient to live because a supermarket is very close. The staff were very helpful.
