Iceland Hotel Hamar

Everything worked out for us! Friendly service, plenty of space and fine breakfast.

The location is isolated, but I'm not sure there's anything to see in the nearby city (I didn't look it up) and there are beautiful views from the windows along one side of the hotel. Everything is ground level so you can hear everyone walking by (or at outside deck of restaurant) but that's calmed down by 9 pm or so. Room is very comfortable, but tiny bathrooms and the usual Iceland problem that the common areas, especially hallways, are overheated making it too warm for some of us to sleep and the windows don't open enough to let in much air to cool it. Breakfast is meh, although the coffee is not as awful as our hotel in Selfoss.

Beautiful room away from the entrance, excellent restaurant, and very friendly staff... but - the electrical outlets in the room are not powered - the bathtub surface is as slippery as an ice rink - and the television does not work due to an antenna failure
