Edda Hotel Laugarbakki

The hotel, which hosted us for one night, is located far off the beaten path, but is strategically convenient for a round trip. The not very inviting first impression of the building is compensated for when one considers the modernized interior of the hotel: our junior suite was wonderfully spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The furnishings themselves are modern and emphasize functionality. Unfortunately, we were unlucky that four tour buses were also being catered to at the same time, and the morning rush for the breakfast buffet and the search for a free table was somewhat disruptive for us - however, the staff handled this with calmness and professionalism. We had a good and tasty dinner in the restaurant (there is nothing else nearby) and were well taken care of by the friendly staff member. Thank you.

We stayed two nights at Hotel Laugarbakki and had a wonderful experience. The location is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, with a true Icelandic countryside feel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and we slept very well both nights. The dinner was a real highlight—absolutely fabulous food, beautifully prepared and full of flavour. After a day of exploring, the hot tubs were fantastic—such a great way to unwind in the evening. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, making everything easy and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.

What a wonderful hotel! What a welcome! Personal, friendly, great rooms, and three hot tubs. Very interesting recommendations for little excursions out and about. The cuisine and restaurant are top-notch. Make a pick from the menu, you can't go wrong. The wolf fish is highly recommended. But also the burgers and lamb and all — Icelandic cuisine at its best. The brilliant chef also offers the famous Icelandic shark. With schnapps. Don't miss it!!! And in the evening, head to the very cozy bar, which was very successfully converted from a gym. Drinks, music, and atmosphere - so nice! Don't miss it! Been there twice - for good reason. An Icelandic gem-stone. Thank you, Runar Thor!
