Icelandair Hotel Hamar

Beautiful room away from the entrance, excellent restaurant, and very friendly staff... but - the electrical outlets in the room are not powered - the bathtub surface is as slippery as an ice rink - and the television does not work due to an antenna failure

Staff was great, very responsive to our requests. The room was very nice and spacious. Love the fact that they call you for the aurora- which was amazing. The day we arrived was a big snow storm (early April) so the view was great, but we didn't get to enjoy the grounds. Good location near Borgarnes, but not right in the town. Coincidentally- outside our room was a big meeting spot for watching the Aurora so it was a little noisy for a little while. I think if there hadn't been so much snow that day people would have spread out and it wouldn't have been a problem. thankfully the aurora was earlyish in the evening- and it only lasts for about 45 min.

Had to book the hotel last minute due to a snow storm and road closures (orange level storm!) and we were so pleasantly surprised and happy with it! We wished we could stay longer and hope to one day come back. The bungalow was great and we highly recommend getting one.
