Formal Complaint Regarding Extremely Disappointing Stay Dear Team, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. Considering that your property is positioned as a five-star hotel and the expectations that naturally come with the price and level of service promised, our experience was unfortunately far below acceptable standards. We were travelling to celebrate my friend’s birthday and had specifically requested birthday amenities and decorations to be arranged in the room. Despite arriving approximately one hour later than the standard check-in time, nothing had been prepared. This was particularly disappointing, as the request had been communicated in advance and was an important part of our stay. In addition to this, we faced multiple issues throughout our stay: * Television not working: We contacted the front desk regarding the television, but despite calling three times over a period of approximately one and a half hours, no one attended to the issue until much later. Such a delay in responding to a basic concern was extremely disappointing. * Air conditioning issues: The AC was set to the lowest temperature of 18°C, yet the room remained humid and uncomfortable. Even after the power interruptions, the AC continued to function improperly. * Power cuts: We were quite surprised to experience power interruptions during our stay. While technical issues can occasionally occur, experiencing this at a five-star property was unexpected, especially when it further affected the functioning of the air conditioning. * Insufficient bathroom amenities: There was only one bath towel provided in a room occupied by two guests. We also did not find any bathrobes, whereas basic amenities for two guests should have been properly arranged. * Blocked shower drainage: The drainage in the shower cubicle was not functioning properly, causing water to accumulate and making the entire bathroom messy and difficult to use. * Unacceptable cleanliness of the bathtub: This was one of the most unpleasant aspects of our stay. The bathtub had visible marks and small hairs, which appeared to have been left behind from a previous guest. This raised serious concerns regarding the cleanliness and hygiene standards followed while preparing the room. * Dirty cups: The cups provided for the complimentary tea and coffee were dirty from the inside. By this point, after already experiencing several issues and delays in service, we did not wish to contact housekeeping again and had to clean the cups ourselves before using them. * Overall room cleanliness: The general cleanliness of the room, including the floor and carpeted areas, was also not up to the standard we expected. It genuinely appeared that the room had not been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Overall, we faced far too many issues during what was supposed to be a special birthday stay. When guests choose a five-star hotel and pay a premium for the experience, they reasonably expect a certain standard of cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and prompt service. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on multiple occasions and felt that the experience did not justify the expectations or cost associated with staying at your property. I am sharing this feedback because the number and nature of issues we faced were not minor inconveniences but reflected serious gaps in room preparation, housekeeping, maintenance, and service response. A birthday celebration that we had been looking forward to turned into a highly disappointing experience. I sincerely request that you look into this matter seriously and investigate what went wrong during our stay.
