Neelam The Grand

Saw a review on here about how awful this hotel is and was absolutely astounded. We have just returned after 2 weeks here. All the staff are polite and courteous and can't do enough for you. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable and cleaned daily and you are provided with tea/coffee making facilities, lots of little extras like razor and gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, soaps, shower gels and lots of bottles of water. Lovely hot showers daily in a big comfortable bathroom. The pool area is lovely and spotless and towels are provided, no problem getting poolside bed. Really don't watch tv abroad so no problem not having english tv (which I saw someone complain about!!). Free safe in the room for passports etc. Air con and ceiling fan in the room. We booked room only but we were offered free breakfast and they would cook you an English breakfast if you wanted it. We often tried the Indian breakfast food too. Both the pool boys were fantastic (siraj especially) and really couldn't do enough for you to ensure you were comfortable, never had such good service from anywhere in the world. The waiters at the bar and in the breakfast room did a fantastic job too. In all we have just had the best 2 weeks holiday at a fantastic hotel.

Poor hotel had to ask for room cleaning on three occasions, cleaning staff knocking on door asking for money, the lady in charge of room service asked us not to give bad reviews. Room was still not upto standard after cleaning, management and front of desk staff was rude. This is not a 4star hotel not an enjoyable stay would never stay again.

We have just stayed at Neelams The Grand for two weeks , we had read reviews and were a bit apprehensive, first things first,check in was effortless, the reception staff were friendly and helpful even charging my phone for me, the rooms although a little dated didn't detract from our stay ,a great balcony , we stayed in room C14 so had a pool view, rooms and towels cleaned and changed every day , the pool area was spotless and the pool attendant was very attentive, the waiters and bar staff also excelled, food was great ,we had room service and ate on the balcony twice, food was cheap with a great choice and tasty, special thanks to the car park attendant who made sure our scooter was always safe ,very old school and polite . Would we stay here again... DEFINITELY!
