As an avid Indian food eater I was excited to find a restaurant close to my hotel however I was let down by the poor service and bland food. The waiter was totally uninterested in serving anyone and ignored our repeated requests for food and drinks. Eventually we asked one of the other waiters to help us out. The food was tasty but had no variety between dishes therefore we found no distinctive taste between a mild curry and hot vindaloo.
Prices were average for the area but service was below par. Being a foreign traveler it was very evident most of the staff were not friendly to outsiders.

We have booked the hotel online during our trip to delhi. I have called the owner a day before our checkin. And the owner told me that the hotel is closed for renovation and we should check in at an alternative hotel (Ivory Palace) which also is his hotel(that's true). I think he is trying to transfer the bookings on Namaskar India to his other hotel because the latter has a very poor review online. Else he should have called me and informed that the hotel is on renovation and you can check in at the other hotel.
And once we reached Karol bagh, we called this guy called Arun and he send us a boy to guide us to the hotel. The Ivory palace hotel is located in one of the streets of Karol bagh, 4 mins walking from Metro station. The rooms were dimly and unacceptably poorly lit even with two lamps ON. Luckily the A/C was working good and the Bed etc was clean. The toilet was just ok, but not up to the mark, At least they provided toilet tissues, soap, bath towels etc. We stayed there for two days and while we checked out they didn't ask for any extra money, which many hotel owners do. The hotel is located at relatively quite place and you can sleep peacefully. Hotel Namaskar india is around 300m from here. Karol bagh is mainly a residential area though you can find a lot of hotels. In between we found a lot of beer and liqour bottles outside the corridors. I dont think its a good place to stay for family.
I am still not sure Namaskar India was closed down for renovation (Sep 2014) or the owner was trying to con us. My personaly advice is to spend a little more and get a better hotel in Karol Bagh itlself. Its one of the best and peaceful place to stay in Delhi compared to other places like Paharganj.
