The West End Hotel enjoys a very convenient location in South Mumbai, situated on a bustling street opposite one of the city’s oldest hospitals. Despite the busy surroundings, the property offers a surprisingly peaceful stay thanks to effective sound insulation—traffic noise never disturbed our rest, and we consistently enjoyed a good night’s sleep. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, a refreshing contrast to the cramped layouts of many newer hotels. Essential facilities were thoughtfully provided: a comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning, clean towels, neatly arranged wardrobes, and ample bottled water—particularly welcome in the sweltering Mumbai weather. Housekeeping standards were excellent, with everything kept spotless and orderly throughout our stay. The staff stood out as well: professional, experienced, and genuinely helpful, they added a reassuring touch of hospitality. Another highlight was the hotel’s easy access to South Mumbai’s iconic attractions. The Gateway of India, Marine Drive, museums, legendary eateries, tree-lined avenues, and colonial-era architecture were all within convenient reach, making exploration effortless and memorable. Dining at The Gourmet Restaurant was a delight. Both the à la carte menu and the buffet breakfast were consistently well prepared and delicious, adding to the overall comfort and enjoyment of our stay. A small note regarding the bathrooms: while they were neat and clean, they do show their age compared to the freshly renovated rooms. The lack of major upgrades—likely due to the complexities of plumbing and fittings—may come as a contrast in some rooms. This did not affect our comfort, but it is worth mentioning for guests who prefer more modern bathroom facilities.

Hi ALL, We wanted to stay in South Mumbai near Marine lines & after going through multiples hotels in the area, selected this property based on the location, pricing & star ratings. The property is located just opposite Bombay Hospital and is nearer to popular iconic landmarks like Marine Drive, the Gateway of India, etc. Will straight away come to the PROS & CONS of this hotel. PROS: 1. The only silver lining of the hotels is that, its about 5 minutes (Driving distance) from the Marine drive & about 5-10 minutes from Gateway of India. 2. The breakfast is just fine but doesn't have a wide variety of dishes. CONS: 1. It's an old-fashioned property & an average hotel for people who want to stay near to popular spots. The door needs to be locked with a key & a bolt inside. NOI what one can expect from a 4 * property for sure. We killed a couple of small cockroaches. Pix attached. 2. The Executive double room is quite small & is not value for money (we paid 10K per night which is not value more than 6K.) I understand that, hotel prices in South Mumbai are expensive but not so much!! 3. The restroom is quite small. 4. As the website says, its definitely NOT a 4 star hotel by any means. 5. It anyone is willing to pay more, they definitely get better hotels than this property like hotel Astoria. 6. The bed is queen-sized. Overall, a disappointing experience. Unless, you want to blow your hard-earned money on average rooms, please don't book this hotel.

I visited Gurmet Restaurant of West End Hotel, New Marine Lines, Mumbai along with my business friends for dinner. All orders were delicious in taste and served with smile gestures. The beauty of this property is customer friendly and professional hospitality attitude of all staff members. They welcomed me with smile and delivered the best.
