Pros: Close to the bird sanctuary, decent sized room and bathroom, a bit oldish building, but well maintained, open space, garden, aesthetic; seems a better option that many other hotels in the vicinity. Food is okay-ish; nothing amazing for the price. Breakfast buffet (included in room rent) and Dinner buffet (extra) @850/_ per person. General staff is decent and helpful. Cons: Expensive as only basic amenities are provided. The towels are discolored. Food is overpriced. Birds Eye View and The Courtyard that are of the same category have lesser priced items and variety. At most room rent could be 4000/_ per night. What didn't work for us: We inquired about bonfire and were told there is a community bonfire within the premises. When the bonfire was lit, my husband and I just went and stood around it. Then, I moved towards the reception for better wifi and heard the middle-aged, bespectacled receptionist calling a guest and saying that we have started your bonfire, but someone else is hijacking it; come soon. A large group descended from their rooms with liquor and immediately settled down around the bonfire, not allowing anyone else to participate. Now the points here are: 1. Allowing selective open air drinking without a license 2. Disrespect to other guests by saying we are "hijacking" a bonfire. 3. Misguiding - Just say bonfire is on demand or payment and/or only for special guests; or start small bonfires or "tasla" in other areas for not so special guests. 4. Not providing the same services to all guests when we paid what we were asked to pay.

Specious clean room with kettle and tea making facilities. Specious bathroom with good shower and hot water. WiFi, air con and TV in room. Nice furniture and well arranged seating with good storage. Courteous and attentive staff made our stay very welcome. Good fresh cooked food in the restaurant.

I recently stayed at Hotel Sunbird, Bharatpur, booking a standard room for one night as my primary focus was visiting the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Upon checking in, I realized that a hot kettle was not provided in the room. When I approached Mr. Laxman Singh, the GM/Proprietor, he curtly informed me that kettles are not included and that I "should have read the confirmation email." His response was both dismissive and unprofessional. Basic amenities like a TV, towels, or a kettle are standard in most hotels—you don’t expect guests to bring these from home! I then requested tea via room service for the next morning, but he refused outright. When I tried to discuss the matter further, he started shouting, misbehaving, and even threatened to throw my belongings out if I didn’t vacate the room within 30 minutes. His behavior was shockingly rude and completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. In all my travels, I have never encountered such disgraceful service. This hotel lacks basic courtesy and professionalism, and the management seems to believe that losing a customer or receiving a bad review won’t make a difference. Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are plenty of other options in Bharatpur where guests are treated with respect.
