Executive Comfort St. Mary's Road

I've stayed at Executive Comfort St. Mary's Road four times over the last year and a half for 2 weeks at length each time. The property is affordable on a beautiful and relatively quiet street for Chennai. The rooms are clean, the views out of the bedrooms look out onto a garden with old growth trees. The manager, Mr. Suhas, is professional, with extremely good communication skills and follow through. The rooms come with free breakfast which can be continental or India--idlies or dosas.

I am wrapping my by second one-month stay at The Executive Comfort on St. Mary's Road. This is such a comfortable place to stay! The staff is very friendly and is happy to help with most any request and their cooking is excellent! The owner, Mr. Suhas, is very kind and responsive. I love the central location - there are two restaurants within a 1 block radius. There is a shop (Hameedia Market) on the corner where you can find pretty much any necessity. St. Mary's Road is not a very busy street, but it has enough traffic that you can find an auto if you need to go far. Plus, it's well known enough that all the auto drivers know where it is. I love the safety - there is a watchman for the building 24 hours per day. At night the outer gate at the street level is locked. The front door of the apartment is always locked. And each bedroom locks individually. This is especially great for women travelers and people who are visiting India for the first time. The cooking is so good! You can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner on site if desired for a reasonable price. I try to eat all my meals here because it's delicious, healthy, and safer than trying to find a good restaurant. You can also bring some of your own food if you prefer. The whole apartment is very clean and it has free wifi. Each room has an AC and ceiling fan, and its own private bathroom. Bedrooms all have windows with what I consider to be pretty views and western-style beds with crisp white linens. Fresh towels are readily available. Each room also has a closet to hang clothes, a luggage rack, and a small desk. Laundry services and ironing are available for a fee, or you can handwash your clothes (there's a bucket for washing in the bathroom, laundry soap from Hameedia Market) and hang them to dry on the balcony. Two 3-bedroom apartments are available. You can rent a whole apartment or a single bedroom. The property is wheelchair accessible with an elevator. All in all, I love this place and can't wait to come back next year. :)

Hotel is located in a good location but A/C which are expected to be high quality in chennai heat are of poor quality. No cold water available. Food is average. Bathrooms are good and clean. US consulate is at near by location of 5 Km. Marina beach is also at same distance.
