Bayu Cottages

My husband and I turned up to spend 5 nights here from 7-12 March 2025, after payment for this accommodation was deducted from our credit card a few days prior and confirmation was received that we were expected. The whole Bayu Cottages complex is being completely and extensively renovated and has obviously been empty for this purpose for several weeks. We took photos as evidence and we have emailed the owners asking for a refund. We had to find alternative accommodation in Amed, at additional expense because Bayu Cottages owners have our money! BEWARE!!! IT'S BEING RENOVATED AND COMPLETELY UNINHABITABLE AT PRESENT!!! We are unsure what is going to happen with us receiving a refund as we contacted the owners immediately on 7 March 2025, but we're yet to get any type of response from them!

We were there just a week or so ago. We initially made a booking for 5 nights , but it was so good we stayed for another week. We loved it. the rooms have a spectacular view out to the passage between Bali and Lombok. The rooms are beautiful with blue and white being the dominant aesthetic. The staff are wonderful. Just a short stroll to half a dozen great restaurants and a supermarket for supplies. Skylah the manager is special , an animal lover with two beautiful dogs Roxy and Lexy that she rescued and a pet otter named Otaway who weighed 12 kilos and eats 4 kilos of chicken wings and another 4 kilos of fish daily. We are so thankful to the establishment, they made our holiday memorable , a joy !

Absolutely wonderful location with fantastic views of the sea - took many pictures of both sunrises and sunsets. In a great location and we walked to dinner each night. We also walked to neighbouring fishing villages for meals and massage. Our room and ensuite were spacious. We had a lovely porch with fantastic seaviews. Breakfast was included and delicious! Our room was cleaned and tidied daily (with the option to reuse towels and bedding for environmental purposes). The beach was just over the road with easy access - a lovely black sandy beach as opposed to the main Amed beach which is full of pebbles and very little to no sand. Fabulous snorkelling just off-shore and many options to hire a boat and go out further. We'd most definitely return!
