Baliku Dive Resort Amed

Avoid this hotel at all costs. We stayed in several hotels across Bali during our trip, and Baliku was by far the worst. In fact, it was the only hotel where we decided to leave early and move somewhere else because staying there had become genuinely unpleasant. The location is a major disadvantage. The hotel is far from the center of Amed, and there are practically no restaurants, cafés, or shops within walking distance. Getting to the center requires transportation, which is surprisingly expensive compared to similar distances elsewhere in Bali. The biggest disappointment, however, is the hotel itself. The photos simply do not reflect its current condition. Everything feels extremely old, worn out, and long overdue for renovation. Many things are broken, dirty, or poorly maintained, and the overall cleanliness falls well below what should be considered an acceptable standard. Some examples: * Plants are literally growing between the bathroom floor tiles. * It takes at least 10 minutes, often even longer, before hot water reaches the shower. * The bed linen was stained and torn. * Many fixtures and furnishings are damaged or falling apart. * Overall hygiene is simply unacceptable. Access to the rooms is only via very steep stairs, which can be difficult if you have luggage, children, or mobility issues. The hotel provides only one liter of complimentary drinking water per day, which is insufficient even for one person, let alone for a family. To be fair, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the sea view from the room was beautiful. Unfortunately, these are the only positive aspects of our stay. Perhaps this hotel was considered good twenty years ago, but today it has clearly not kept up with even basic hospitality standards. The price is completely unjustified for what is offered. In our opinion, it deserves no more than one star, and even that would be generous. Do not rely on the promotional photos or descriptions—they do not represent the current reality. There are many much better places to stay in Amed for the same price or even less. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you want to be deeply disappointed.

Staff very kind, food good, pool great but the noise is full on. It overseas a village and it can be incredibly loud. If your looking for peace, it’s not for you,

If you are looking for a smaller, lovingly green and quiet accommodation in an original location, this is the right place. We had Villa No. 3 and have nothing to complain about. The room was clean, there was a big bottle of water every day and if we had wanted it would have been cleaned daily. The furnished covered terrace and the view to one side of the sea and the other the mountain were just awesome, we always let the evening here end comfortably by candlelight. We had the pool almost to ourselves, the other guests were mostly on the road all day. The food in the in-house restaurant was great every day and priceless. The breakfast was very good. Through the manager you can also organize a driver for excursions or a scooter. For people with walking difficulties or problems with running, the Baliku is rather not suitable, as it is located several levels higher and you have to climb a few stairs. We will definitely come back again.
