The Natia

Really dated and poorly maintained hotel in central Candi Dasa. I'll not dwell too much on the details here but about the only things that Natia has going for it are the pool, the location, and the air conditioning...everything else is just plain horrible. And, to top it off, it was not necessarily cheap either.

Friendly staff. Room was very dark and worn out. The swimmingpool was well maintained and had a good view. However its not possible to swim in the sea from the hotel. Missed some music and staff to order food/drink at the pool. When just arrived someone instantly approached to sell trips, not staff from the hotel. A bit weird but hey its Bali. So took a trip with the man Gusti's son to go snorkling by boat for 200k, was fun and very nice views from the boat.

I decided on The Natia as a cheaper option of breaking our stay in the South... booked on line for 6 nights....when we arrived offered a welcome drink and then showed us to our room, it was very dark and dingy with very poor lighting...wife and I "looked" at each other :-( .....went out to the very small pool/pool area, and again :-( , pool was green and couldn't see any steps ( and with both having knee and hip problems) which made it totally unsatisfactory......we rushed off for some lunch, fired up the iphone to find something else, didn't take long, went an inspected a waterfront property located just before CandiDasa......spacious grounds, infinity pool and if you opted for their cheapest Bungalow about the same as Natai....we booked in, then headed back to The Natia to tell them that we wouldn't be staying, cost me 1 night, but was happy to pay to get out of there..the staff seemed resigned to our leaving, with early termination of stays probably the norm..... On a Bali forum 2 other posts, indicated similar experiences (one night and outta there) just before we arrived Might ? have been a great place to stay 25-30 years ago, but way past a reno date
