My boyfriends first visit to Bali I wanted to show him why it was my 15th so accomodation was important. I'd been looking for weeks for that perfect place (at the right price!) and wasn't getting anywhere...
I'd stayed in another villa of Lens a couple of years ago so found his card and shot him an email on the off chance he could help. His new place was available, in a similar area and at a decent price. (So many Bali places are overpriced and when you get there they have nothing more than the lesser priced places)...
Yande picked us up from the airport and drove us directly to the villa. Our plane was 2hrs late so we were dead tired but upon arriving at the villa, his wife Agung had made us a welcome drink which we drank while admiring the pool and then showed us to our spacious room which was more than I'd hoped for. The room itself was bigger than many studio apartments I've seen in Sydney, the bathroom was bigger than my kitchen and the bed was HUGE (a king) so plenty of room to roll away from boyfriend when necessary!
Each morning Agung cheerily made us breakfast (included in the price) at whatever time we'd pre-organised the night before. As with most food in Bali it was delicious. Having met Agung last time I'd stayed in a villa of Lens, she'd asked me on our arrival if we would need a scooter organised otherwise Yande was available with his air-conditioned car for a daily rate. Had we not needed more rest I would have loved to have taken boyfriend touring around the island for a day with Yande, however someone needed his sleep so we opted to do our own thing. Agung organised a scooter for us (with helmets) and was happy to recommend places to eat, see, get massages etc...
The location itself is "away" from the main bustle of the tourist areas, but close enough to be there in a short amount of time if you like. It's also not on a main road so no mad tourists screaming past drunk and waking you in the middle of the night. I think the only noise I heard while we were there was a rooster crowing in the distance and even he didn't wake up until quite late!
Thankfully boyfriend loved Lens place at Sari Agung and stated "we'll be back". Music to my ears as I was going back with or without him...!
