The place is far from everything in the jungle. The hotel itself is a bit old, it is from another time, but the important thing is elsewhere. The staff is extremely kind, very Arabic! The hotel is very quiet, far from everything and the guests are very quiet, you can hear nothing, either day or night. A beautiful place to be quiet I think! The breakfast or the dishes offered are very derisory and it is difficult to criticize them, they are made with the means of the board... Finally, we met “Buda” a first name or nickname, which led us to Seminyak near Denpasar. “Buda” speaks perfect English, without accents. A taxi ordered via the Hotel, because the Grabs do not move around this lost corner. This person is great and has a beautiful culture of life! “Hello Buda! We will arrive in France!”. He drove us and we talked to him. He has a very good opinion of French, which pleased us!!!

After over 20 hours of travelling we arrived at the Puri Saron in the early hours of the morning only to discover that the room we had booked wasn’t available. The security guard showed us to our alternative room, down some steep steps into what can only be described as a basement. The stench of must and damp was evident and there was no en suite bathroom, for this facility we had to go across a hallway into 3 separate rooms (toilet, shower and urinals) all shared. Initially we were adamant we were not staying and after a communication effort the security guard got someone on the phone who then told us that we would have to stay here for 2 nights as the hotel was fully booked. Eventually after a few frantic phone calls to our agent in the UK we were found alternative accommodation but unfortunately we would have to stay here until 10am in the morning. We got our heads down on the damp and musty bed and were woken at 7.30am with a drum beat and screaming yoga above our room. Breakfast was basic to say the least, porridge, scrambled egg, limited fruit and pastries was all that was offered served up in oddments of tatty and broken pots. Some of the seating in the restaurant resembled paste tables. We did not see any manager and zero effort was made as way of any apology or explanation. Upon checkout the guy on reception was very aware, did say sorry and ordered us our taxi which was paid for by the hotel but only because I insisted, it wasn’t offered. It was the least they could do as one valley view room somewhere had been paid for twice. With our very limited experience of this hotel I would advise to avoid. The location is in the middle of nowhere, the scenery and countryside is stunning but if you like things within walking distance or close by then you will be disappointed, this hotel is about 40 minutes to 1 hour outside the centre of Ubud when you take traffic into consideration. Many thanks to our agent/Hays travel and the Bali Spirit Hotel who saved our holiday. Conclusion: AVOID

We have had a very unfortunate experience at this hotel. We had a closed purse lying ahead with some money in. The wallet we had in front was only cash, which we regularly count how much cash is in the wallet, as we had to use the cash for a special trip on the island. We count how much money we have in this purse when we arrive at the hotel, and then when we arrive at the next hotel, we can see that there is a missing 1,000,000 rupiah. Since we again do not use this wallet for anything but to keep money in, we are absolutely sure that for one reason or another they have disappeared here at the hotel, without us opening it ourselves. We have then been in contact with the hotel, which has not been able to do anything about the situation, and end the conversation by writing that they will make their staff aware of this. We therefore recommend that if you choose to go to this hotel, keep your valuables in a safe place, as we have experienced that they can openly be left away.
